just because a faction of southerners think that New York is "anti-buisness" doesn't make it so.
their regulatory and tax schemes are not business friendly. hell their new ads admit that (offering lower taxes to new businesses)

I'm a straight white male who grew up in south louisiana. 90% of my friends growing up and today are conservative. If I didn't understand and respect an opposing view I would never have made it.
so you respect racists, segregationists, misogynists, creationists, islamic fundamentalists, etc?

are you admitting that all conservatives fall into one of these groups?

you'd be surprised at how little they give a shite about the south, one way or another. Nothing like the venom that goes the other way.
Yeah. Right.
What part of New York are you from ?

this isn't a black/white, left/right, conservative/liberal discussion
i just picked out some views i figured you wouldn't respect that aren't absurd/illegal (like pedophiles or murderers)
plenty of liberals are segergationists and racists. just see San Fransisco

I was obviously talking about general political philosophy. You can disagree with someone but still understand and respect their position.

Then why is New York is #50 out of 50 states in economic freedom?

it wasn't that obvious. you were replying to a post about a very specific concept that i'll quote below:
quote:
This is how the free market works. This is how America works..we are celebrating the fact that the traditional way of showing opposition to certain laws is being used. Get up and move away and take your money with you. frick New York

why is New York buying tons of ads on MSNBC offering lower taxes for new businesses?

That still doesn't necessary make it "anti-buisness"
In my experience NY is more pro-consumer than it is anti-buisness

I'm from Upstate. I have numerous relatives in Long Island, Jersey, and farther north than Syracuse. I literally have a cousin Vinny. New Yorkers condescending comments about the South are never-ending, and they are completely clueless about the inherent advantages and opportunities of Southern Living. Outside of those in NYC, I literally feel sorry for them-they are caught in some Blue Collar Underachievement Time Stands Still Hell of their own making. And they have NO IDEA how sweet the quality of life is in The Deep South.

What makes your opinion more significant?

obviously we're both offering up anecdotal evidence
i would also say that in terms of "quality of life" (whatever that means) that there are things i like and dislike about both, but from a public health perspective the data is overwhelming in favor of the north.

Why is it necessary that any american state is "anti-buisness"?

if you're ranked 50/50, that's pretty indicative of being anti-business
