Good lord those Dems got smashed.

And why were people questioning if Nunes was going to get defeated? People love him.

I don't know why anyone would think a "blue wave" is/was coming.

It takes longer than 2 years for these shifts back and forth to occur.

If anything, we should continue to see the red wave grow over the next decade.

People do not need to get too complacent. That is exactly what Dims want and a lot can happen between now and Nov.

IMO, Rs in California really don’t care about Senate and/or President elections bc they know in the grand scheme of things their votes dont matter. In local and House elections, their votes count so I would bet they would be a lot more active.

All we need is for Nancy to keep talking and Hillary to keep whining and Red Wave will get stronger

Dude it’s a primary and the Dems had a lot more reps running which is why their numbers were so low individually. Once the general takes place all of those Dems will coalesce around the nominee. So the appearance of the Rs gaining more votes is just a facade.

Also in regards to Montana, Tester ran unopposed so there were no votes to cast on the Dem side. So comparing a 42,000 gain is dumb.

Because of history. The incumbent party "always" loses seats in mid-term congressional elections.

Keep telling yourself that. Look at every race - the #'s for R's smashed the combined #'s of the Dems. You think some magical voting bloc is being unaccounted for?

And what did Obama lose in his first Midterms?

the 2010 midterm election season featured some of the biggest losses since the Great Depression. The Republican Party gained 63 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, recapturing the majority, and making it the largest seat change since 1948 and the largest for any midterm election since the 1938 midterm elections. The Republicans gained six seats in the U.S. Senate, expanding its minority, and also gained 680 seats in state legislative races,[4][5][6] to break the previous majority record of 628 set by Democrats in the post-Watergate elections of 1974.[6] This left Republicans in control of 26 state legislatures, compared to the 15 still controlled by Democrats. After the election, Republicans took control of 29 of the 50 State Governorships.

Per Wiki.

2 years of media melting and now you are backing off of the blue wave stating it has only been 2 years.

Seems like a motivated electorate can move mountains like they did in 2010.

Maybe moderate democrats are tired of non-stop Trump bashing for 2 years.

Maybe democrats have done NOTHING but bashing without putting forward an actual platform for good change and not just the sjw crap of the day.

All those DEMs had less than half the total. Give them all to one DEM and he still loses.

The anecdotal evidence I posted had all the Reps with 50% or more except Duncan Hunter and he was very close to 50%. Coalesce all you want you still can't get over 50%.
