It looks like the men of Fusion GPS are going to go with a "mistakes were made" defense of the dossier.

https://www.npr.org/2019/11/22/781589327/bosses-of-fusion-gps-tell-the-inside-story-of-the-steele-dossier?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

quote:

The dossier

How then, to explain glaring questions about the Russia reporting? The Ritz-Carlton story wasn't the only problematic allegation.

There was also the story about Trump's then-attorney, Michael Cohen, allegedly taking part in a direct relationship with Russian agents as part of the 2016 election interference — which Cohen denied vociferously and which also has never been verified.

Well, sources report what they know or what they've heard, Simpson and Fritsch argue, but that doesn't mean it's always right.

Simpson throwing Steele under the bus

quote:

If it had been up to Simpson and Fritsch, they write, Steele's reporting never would have seen the light of day.

But they and Steele felt so alarmed by what his sources reported that they arranged for it to pass via intermediaries to the authorities — and, eventually, it found its way to news organizations, including NPR, in early 2017.

“Mistakes were made”?

Misplacing punctuation is a mistake. Making shite up wholesale to affect a presidential election, not so much.

Well, no shite. We all know the ole' American adage under which bedrocks our beloved constitution:

I think I'd go with the more intellectual approach of, "You see what happened was"

Everybody knew the Nielson "ha-ha" defense would be the counter. I'm thrilled our state-run media outlet is shilling for one of the most corrupt scams in the history of our federal government.

The key to all of this is to apply a boot to the threat, keep up the pressure, and do not relent until people are exposed, tried, convicted and jailed.

Heads need to roll everywhere.

This was what it is .... an attempted coup on a duly elected POTUS by the Deep State. It wasn't a mistake. It wasn't an accident. It was planned and executed and carried out by the swamp rats and MSM.

Examples need to be made. DO NOT let up. Go for the jugular.

I hate to say this as a defense of fusion, but the onus falls on the Government. Fusion is free to write and publish whatever fiction pops into their little heads. The issue is the Government taking a bias and unverified document, treating it as valid intel, then using it to secure unlawful warrants.

So...you're basically going to excuse Hillary and the DNC also.
Bc now their going to say "we ask them to find information not "make-up" information"

That's not going to work.

Trump wasn’t president at the time and they thought he never would be. Hence playing it hard and fast with facts.

There is all kinds of shite done by people in the DC orbit during the 2016 election that they would have handled differently if they thought there was a legit chance Hillary would lose.

Heads need to be rolled - departments need to be sterilized - examples have to be severe and lasting.

Im not obsolving Hillary and the DNC of anything. They were instramental in using their influence and connections to back channel what amounts to tabloid trash into various goverment departments.....elevating the dossier and using it the way they did can all be part of the criminal conspiracy.

There is nothing new about oppo research. The difference here is how the Government adopted and used it that is criminal.

oh to hell with Fusion

We want the DEEP STATE seditionists who conspired to overthrow a duly elected POTUS - and ruin the lives of dozens of innocent people in the process

We want THOSE degenerate apparatchiks in prison. Or at the end of a rope.

And we want any 'private enterprise' who abetting them by not exercising any degree of "due diligence' sued into oblivion and live as homeless grifters on the streets.

The "we got caught, so now we need to cover our asses" defense is more like it.
