Well, if it’s any consolation, we’re not beating socialism at the ballot box. Too many takers. I sure would have liked to have had an 8-12 year run to stall the collapse, though.

You sound like a miserable person, but there is some truth in what you've said.
Trump has failed America the country. A good portion of this country doesn't give two fricks if Iran is under Islamic regime rule or not. They just want to be able to have affordable electricity, food and a decent living.
All that oil that those tankers are buying from the US will make oil companies rich, if not highest on record for many, yet the citizens won't realize a single dime as the bulk of that goes to tax money for additional state pet projects.
Will my mortgage rate lower? Nope
Will my property taxes lower? Nope
Will my electric bill go lower? Nope
Will my groceries drop in price? Nope
School me oh mighty ones and tell me what happened to America First? I love the boisterous nature of Trump, but in reality, he hasn't done shite for us.

I don't think it's going to be too bad. The country is so divided, and vast majority of U.S. Rep districts so damn gerrymandered, that midterms won't be some sort of Democrat landslide.
Left of center voters, while maybe not thrilled with their party leadership "not fighting Trump hard enough", will be motivated to vote if anything to try to show some sort of rebuke against Trump. And you can damn well bet the Greyhound buses will be running. Right of center voters probably won't be nearly as motivated, so that could cause some US House seats to flip, but still, probably not enough for some sort of landslide.
We'll see that GOTV motivation here in Texas for lefty voters in the U.S. Senate race. I still think Republicans retain the seat. Paxton eeks out of runoff victory vs. Talerico that ends up being way closer than it really should be.

Yeah but these areas becoming so liberal basically means they will be deciding between socialists and your average Dem today. It's how we gradually become Europe.
We (the right) did a good job pulling people in on common sense issues in 2024. We haven't delivered results though. And the Dems are doing a MUCH better job at locking in what I would call 'voters for life'. The right is standing on Shakey ground
