“Would you, as president, sign a bill that would allow for national concealed carry of permitted firearms for responsible gun owners?”

DeSantis: “Yes!”
This is how federalism dies. One popular issue at a time.

The part of the 2nd that defines concealed carry. I'm open to your showing me. Maybe I'm wrong.

Uh, the right to bear arms shall not be infringed? Weather it's concealed or not is irrelevant. I don't like laws that infringe on my rights, maybe you do so you can feel comfortable, safe, soft, and domesticated.

What infuriates me is this defeatist weak attitude when it comes to guns. You have fudd NRA giving a big show how great they, taking in money, and getting bent over on policy. Meanwhile Firearms Policy Coalition has been bending the ATF over in court. It can be done.

What a clown!! POTUS Trump picked 3 SCOTUS Justices that are making bigly huge changes to recent SCOTUS precedents. The Administrative state is losing rule making authority soon, EPA just took one in the gut, and Bruen opened the door big time hugely regarding gun rights.

POTUS Trump completely understands more gun owners mean less crime. Of course, gooooooooooooooooooooooberment officials hate the concept of more gun owners but love the trend lately towards the arming of goooooooooooooooooooooooberment officials. Imagine that!!

The right to bear arms is in the constitution. It's the goddamn second amendment.
Wrong.

The Second Amendment says that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed (Textualism). The sentence is written in the passive voice, so it does not tell us WHO is precluded from such infringement (pure Textualism thus fails us).

When pure Textualism fails us, we look to Originalism.

What governmental entity (or entities) did the Founders have in mind when they wrote the abortion of a sentence? Legislative history tells us rather clearly that they were limiting the FEDERAL government and not the governments of the STATES.

The entire PURPOSE of the Bill of Rights arose from a fear that a strong federal government would overstep its bounds. Precisely NO ONE was worrying about State governments, because the Delegates were REPRESENTING the States.

You should go find your junior high civics teacher and ask them some questions.
I wouldn't trust her to understand "two Senators per State," much less something as complex as the federalism inherent in the Second Amendment.

I have every confidence in the world that my state would never waiver on "shall not be infringed". I really don't want Washington to define and dictate what we in Mississippi have going.

The right to bear arms is something I am already in possession of. That's like Desantis claiming he's going to sign a national bill giving me the right to oxygen.

The original and current intent of the people to limit the Federal Goooooooooooooooberment, though the civil war changed the dynamic between the Feds and State gooooooooobers, is protected by an armed populace "served" by the Fed and State goooooooooooooooooobers.

It is too bad we have to waste our time taking control back from the media.

That’s an abortion of an interpretation of the Second Amendment. A prefatory clause is not a limitation, the right is clearly conferred to THE PEOPLE, hence it’s inclusion in the Bill of Rights.
