Rant alert: Congress is a joke.

There still are seven months until the November elections, but it looks and sounds like Congress is done doing anything until at least then.
House and Senate Republican leaders have already said they don’t plan to comply with the law that requires Congress to adopt an annual budget resolution that lays out how money should be spent in fiscal year 2019 starting Oct. 1. The congressional schedule suggests there will be only about 60 mid-week days with actual votes before the midterms, so there’s not enough time to do next year’s appropriations bills that actually spend the money. And the GOP has decided not to try again to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
All this means that most legislative excitement likely won’t come until December, if it happens at all. That’s when lawmakers may be back for another government shutdown cliffhanger.
Only 60 working days between now and the November elections. That is ridiculous even the French work more than that.

Nothing significant was said or done about reviving the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program for young undocumented immigrants, even though hundreds of thousands of lives hang in the balance. The same was true on assault weapons and other major steps on guns, although the March for Our Lives was about to happen.
There was no attempt to debate the president’s trade tariffs that have already created massive volatility in financial markets and could trigger trade wars. And even as Congress grapples with the MeToo era and taxpayer-financed payouts to women wronged by members of Congress, there was nothing about sexual harassment. There also was no congressional alternative to the Trump infrastructure plan, even though it died a quick and ignominious death and supposedly there is bipartisan support for doing something in its place.
I think it is safe to say that we all agree Congress is pathetic and everyone needs to email their representatives (republican, democrat, or independent) and they demand that they actually get off their arse and do something on some issue. Also we need to vote out every single member of Congress that has been there for 8 years or more. They all sucks (Republican, democrat, and independent) and need to be replaced.

Congress sucks but, unfortunately, a no work Congress is probably better than a working congress because there is a limit to what they can frick up.

Will never happen. The Right likes to rant on message boards and later vote for their incumbent.

We need the infrastructure. That should be a nonpartisan issue (unless they want to raise the gas tax), and they are doing more damage by delaying it another year.

Have heard this since Obama. Where has the money gone so far?

A lot of places. The problem is that we need a lot more. Every time the government kicks the can down the road the list just keeps getting longer and the price tag get bigger.

Msm and dems will fight an infrastructure bill every step of the way. After a couple months, half the country will believe an infrastructure bill is sexist, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, islamaphobic.

I never claim to speak for "everybody." So you can shove that "that is what everybody says" crap right back up your blowhole.

As opposed to what, exactly? Voting for the Marxist democrat, and expecting them to do as you wish?

At least they got around to cutting themselves a pay raise. in the Omnibus bill. They deserve it. They are public servants!

Gosh you seem angry.
I hate both parties. Enjoy voting for your incumbents again and again.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and I have been more pissed off than a stepped on cottonmouth today.

I emailed John Kennedy under the influence of a few beverages and got two generic replies back. A much stronger shake than this is what’s needed.

My solution is not voting for any incumbent
