A DACA Compromise and funding for border security are mutually exclusive. If fixing immigration is so important then why can't it be a stand alone bill?

It is, you dunce. DACA is an immigration issue. He is not trying to attach Planned Parenthood abortion defunding with it.

Solutions like this are the reason Rand Paul should be president.

Right. After this goes through the grinder it'll amount to legalizing these illegals and nothing else. Paul is naive, or maybe he knows that he's allowing the nose of the camel in. What sounds reasonable will never remain reasonable at the end.

I don't think the Feds can control state benefits and in-state tuition, and I don't think I'd want them to.

This is a great start, so it means it won't pass.

Paul also believes that all welfare should be cut off for those who are not US citizens.

This is a no brainer if you ask me. If you aren't a citizen then why the frick is my tax payer dollars funding them not to work?

Name a benefit that isn't paid for by the feds?

Foodstamps?
TANF (or whatever it is called now)?
Medicaid?

He said welfare benefits, I don't think he meant getting in-state tuition rates. But if somehow he did, I am with you that it would be overreach.

They can effectively control them. NO federal assistance for any state schools or state programs which give assistance of any kind to illegals.

In 2016 illegals cost, not earned, the taxpayers anywhere from 100-107 Billion dollars. You know how much we got back in taxes collected from the illegals - 1.27 Billion. That's what you call losing, big time.

why anyone would disagree with this, I'll never understand

lol Only pure amnesty is palatable to the progressives. Paul is litruhlly Hitler to these folks

But yeah this is the best solution given the predicament previous administrations have put us in re: DACA kids. This will however, never ever get done.

I doubt any legislation gets passed by congress, and then everyone will complain when the 6 months has passed and DACA goes away.

that's what's going to happen and that's what needs to happen.
