Absolutely. They’re pro-American. In fact, they were the original, America-First-ers. The OG. Today, “America First,” really only means, “Trump First,” … which is why you see supremely stupid motherfrickers like Riverside and Geaux-whatever-the-frick-his-shitty-name-is and this anonymous pussy, above, from New Mexico shitting on real, actual Conservatives and calling for them to be primaried (how fricking stupid can they be?) when real, actual Conservatives stand behind real, actual Conservative principles and policies instead of gargling with Trump’s semen like they do.

Rand Paul is a bigger fool than Massie. He knows they will never cut spending so the reality is he is against both.

1) you dont have to buy the imported product (dont have to pay the tax)
2) purpose of the tariff is to incentivise the repatriation of domestic production, thus removing the tariff on those products
short term its a tax increase that is partially absorbed by the importer/seller to maintain market share while the difference is passed on as a higher product
long term there will be more domestic production, negating the cost effect of tariffs
you cant fix in a day with no impact the effects of DC allowing US industry to relocate out of border and outsource out of border.....

Tariffs generate revenue.
Staying out of the debate on whether it helps are harms American citizens, we absolutely should have that revenue earmarked for specific purposes.
Nobody here trust any member in Congress to spend it appropriately.
IMO, Trump missed a perfect opportunity to tie any tariff revenue to a direct deposit to social security. At least try and help something we all know is a dire need vs just dumping it into the general coffers.

Not when we don't have to pay income tax. If Trump pulls that off it will be the greatest move in presidential history.
I so want this to be the answer... Not even a consumption tax, if the goods or servers are produced domestically. But we will still need to reduce the cost of production here in the U.S. otherwise; else we'll never be competitive.

Well, he's got at least 3.3 trillion in new foreign investment directly resulting from said tariffs. And more to come. So, umm, what's the problem? If it makes dollars it makes sense.

Two things about Rand:
He cant fight;
He is correct about tariffs.

Tariffs are one of these things that would be blasted by MAGA world if anyone else did it.

Tariffs haven’t impacted 99.9% of the population in the slightest. You just see the word “tariff” and pucker your anus because you think the Democrats are free market capitalist which is laughable

Not even a little bit. Any politician who tells me he is going to implement a tariff policy that will eliminate our need to pay income tax gets my full support. As it should for everyone else too.

Yes, because Trump didnt run on imposing tariffs in all 3 of his campaigns. Can't believe he fooled all of his supporters with these tariffs.

The same people who complained about Obama's tariffs.

What is the cost of shipping jobs and industries overseas that don’t follow our environmental HR DEI and safety rules? Our lawmakers tariff our own companies with regulations and red tape. Tariffs on other countries solve this problem.

Trump has been talking about evening the playing field via tariffs since at least the 90s. He has had the same message forever.

False. Ross Perot called it. We are shipping our jobs overseas to people who don’t follow any of our HR Environmental DEI safety laws. How else to you even the playing field?
Posted on 8/11/25 at 3:23 pm to Seldom Seen
I’d be with Rand if no body used tariffs but the only way to level the playing field is to enforce our own.
