IF there is no comparable American made product in that price range it is because it cannot compete with slave labor from China. And IF there is a comparable American product, but at a higher price, then the tariff merely evens out the wage differential between the production of the products.
Buy the American made or do without it.
I doubt there is a CRITICAL item that will have an unbearable tariff. And if there IS such an item then it is high time we produce it HERE. The tariff accomplishes this.
IF it is just some cheap toy, then do without it or pay up.
and that doesn't even apply to the reciprocal tariffs that other country puts on our attempts to sell into their country - they protect THEIR economies.
It is high time we do the same - it is time to quit being the slapping boy for the rest of the world

Trump’s tariffs are meant to bring down Mexican and Canadian tariffs. Tariffs on China are more of a national security issue than trade deal.

Tariffs are a great way to promote local business - and there may even be a better payoff in taking away much of the ridiculous regulations and policies that cause the labor and production costs to be so damned HIGH here,.
