I won it way back on like page 2 and you still refuse to address it.

^^ your first post in the thread was frickin wrong.

You lost this debate.

Again, until you can get your dumb arse off the starting blocks and recognize that your first post in this thread was dead wrong (and that again is proven by the map you just agreed was accurate) and then followed that up with pages of bold faced frickin lies there is no need for me to go beyond the surface level in any "debate" with you. Because if you're unwilling to discuss or debate in good faith, it's pointless. Instead, I'll just continue to either call you an idiot, point out that you're a frickin liar, or ignore you.

frickin SFP clone over here.

The funny part about this, is you think you are arguing against me. You are literally arguing against the agreed to fact that Mary is not nor has never been considered a palestinian by birth, religion, or region. That is a fact, not established by me, but established by the historians of the time, the bible, contemporaries, and modern day historians. I mean, continue to claim you won, but you are literally stating that everyone is wrong, and you are right. Let us know how that works out for you, chief.

The original Philistines were settled in the region by the Egyptians after the bronze age collapse (1200 BCE). The Egyptians called them Peleset. They were Greeks, perhaps from Crete. This has been proven by archaeology and ancient DNA.

Yes Jews already lived there at this time.

Modern Palestine has a lot of Arab derived people since the Arabs conquered it after Islam was invented in the 7th century AD. Before that the Romans held it. Before that the Persians had it. And before that the Egyptians as I mentioned above.

Alright, now your shite is just frickin boring. You just admitted that Strabo was right when he called the entire region Palestine and that Pliny agreed. And you were too frickin stupid to even realize you said it because you can't read a map. A map that proves you wrong.

Taken from Strabo's GEOGRAPHICA, volume 16. The entire region from Phoenicia to Egypt is known as Palestine. This includes Judea, Samaria, Galilee, Jericho, The Dead Sea, The Jordan Valley, and everything along the Mediterranean all the way to Egypt.

And you agreed.

You are such a damned fool.

This is all correct. And it changes nothing. As I've said multiple times, the original Palestinians were Greeks. The Muslims don't have any special claim on the name "Palestine." Which is why Christians shouldn't cower away from this and should instead lean into it.

The lack of situational awareness right here is hilarious.

The term Palestine is a Greek adaptation of the word Philistine

The Egyptians were the first to write about these people and they called them “Peleset”. They were Mycenaean Greeks who were attacking Egypt and their colonies in Canaan around the Bronze Age collapse.

It was in use to describe the entire region as far back as the 5th century BC

Before that.

quote:

The Romans officially renamed the territory encompassing Judea Palestine after Christ's death, but the use of the term for the territory is far older than that.

They renamed it that after 70CE when they depopulated Jerusalem and tried to wipe the existence of the Jews from history by calling the land the land of the Jewish enemies (Peleset / Philistia).

Not according to the apostle Paul.

Correct. I've posted all of this multiple times, but once more.

The Greeks picked up the term from the Hebrews, who got it from the Egyptians.

The Greeks of course were borrowing terms from the Hebrews about earlier, pre-classical Greeks.

Point being, the land was known as Palestine long before the time of Christ.

I lost to a pigeon once. It ruined my muted olive felt, self-edged, and styled with a dark-gray grosgrain silk band Dave Brown fedora.

Know where I can find some fresh squab?
