Definitely pretty interesting stuff. But they are still saying that all human males (African and non African) have a common ancestor 160k years ago and that they have no info of where that ancestor could have lived.

The overwhelming majority of fossils of older hominims are found in Africa so it would seem the most likely source, since we can trace evolution from there. Of course just because most hominids were in Africa doesn't mean the last common ancestor was, just means that the last common ancestor's ancestors probably came from africa

H.Neledi isn't chimp, isn't human, and is clearly something else. Buried their dead, had hand tools, made marks on cave walls...way earlier than anyone imagined that was possible.

Yes, the oldest hominids are found in Africa. But it's not a straight line of succession or evolution from A to B to C...

(speaks to the false narrative that there's been NO evolution in the past 1 million years. There has)

They say, specifically and explicitly, that it is "less likely" to be Africa than elsewhere.

Read the study, he is literally following the DNA.

My uneducated paraphrasing: He shows that the alleles from African DNA do not follow what is outside of Africa. IOW, it is much more likely that migration flowed into Africa from Eurasia, than vice versa.

It further supports the mish mash theory (my phrase for it ) that is becoming popular.

I am convinced that there is no starting point. The article I was trying to find, is the one where they said there is most likely no starting point. . .but rather the mish mash caused humans to spring up simultaneously all over.

But yeah, the "Out of Africa theory" is slowly falling away as DNA genealogy becomes more advanced.
