Jeong is not just getting at changing the senate apportionment process, she is indirectly mentioning the electoral college. You know it. I know it. Be better for the sake of whatever few clients you have
Yes, she is. And absolutely everything I have said applies to that issue as well.

Why is it so difficult to understand that some people (not including me) think that different concerns today (one man, one vote) override the 1789 concerns (Virginia, reeeeee) that led to the current electoral system?

I really don’t understand the lefts argument at all. Why even argue changing the Senate to be population based? Might as well just do away with the Senate in their scenarios. Idiocy to think that the smaller population states would stay in a union where 3 or 4 states make all the rules.

I don't know why you directed that post at me. I know all that. I was simply responding to the assertion made by Ebb that he needed an explanation for what problem was Saul's by the founders when they created the government the way they did in the first place

if we can't start from a basic level of understanding it's impossible to have a reasonable conversation there after

ERYONE ... Left, Right and Center ... understands the historical reasons for the current senatorial apportionment system. Please stop acting as if those who oppose a change to that system have some monopoly on understanding history.

Um. Ebb's question by definition disagrees with the above. Don't blame us for pointing it out

It's understandable that they have a different opinion than me on the matter but they are still wrong

We understand they're retarded reasons. That doesn't make them not retarded.

More importantly their reasons really don't differentiate much from the reasons the big States weren't thrilled with it when the country was created

they're not trying to hide the fact they want to dominate the rest of the country. They're pissed they can't

Which in itself is pretty much the definition of nefarious reasons

no most don't understand that our system is one of states and a federal government, b/c of how much we've let the federal government become an authoritarian leviathan the past 75 years. these "Concerns" are noting more than trying to get their side more of that federal leviathan

if people were making the arguments you're implying, it would be an attack on states directly

Hank will let AOC know he respects her opinion as he asks for another slice of bread in line, circa 2035

You and I are in agreement, then.

I just get tired of the pervasive attitude here that “everyone who is not in the Far Right ten percent of the populace is an idiot.”

I certainly know people on the Left who dumber than the mean on this forum. I also know people on the Left who are in the top 1% of the population.

The “small population“ states outnumber the big states. 3/4 of them would have to agree to the change. Thus, it is kind of stupid to argue that the “small states” would try to secede from an arrangement to which they agreed. by joining the supermajority that ratified the Amendment.

No we dont agree I still think they are an idiot on this subject alone. The fact that they are a doctor for instance and probably pretty intelligent doesnt change the fact that are wrong here
