When I think killer breeds, I think pit bull, Akita, Doberman, and then labs and golden retrievers. You sir are a dumbass. GTFO.

Yeah, the last list I checked had zero killed by labs or goldens in the past 10 years.
No. 1 killer was pit bulls. Then a big gap, then a group of 4 or 5 that included Akita, Doberman, Chow and German Shep.

That was dog number 2, cop didn't shoot the first one.

Probably because it trotted up to him and wasn't charging him.

Thought the cop was an untrained coward that just shot dogs in his general vicinity?

Half of the population of our country is idiots. Dogs have the natural ability to detect idiots. Except for pit bull gangatsta dogs and those forced to live with progressives. This dog knew that this cop was idiot. Can only imagine his past interactions with the general public. What an a-hole.

He doesn’t give a frick, and neither do most of his coworkers. He “went home safe”, that’s the only priority for 90% of them.

Not sure about untrained, but hes a coward.
Do you have the same social disease as Hank and SFP?

As a cop, yeah its probably legal. As a grown man, its reprehensible.

Labs are in the top 10 breeds that cause human fatalities

Because there are literally millions.

I think labs have caused 7 deaths in 20 years or something, probably mixed breeds.

Grown arse men have intuition and courage. Dumbasses fear and shoot at first thought.

The day ain’t over yet. Let’s see what happens to him going forward. Either karma or the dogs family will pay him a visit. I’ll be watching.

I'm wondering how someone so jittery can do that job.

No it wasn't. It was a bad mistake but the Policeman was probably ignorant of most canine characteristics. He probably doesn't know the difference between a Lab and a Mastiff. He needs more education/training.

No. That trigger-happy pig should have never been a cop to begin with and the primary problem that enables such egregious abuse of police power is the legal doctrine of “qualified immunity.”

There should be no special class of police state assassins who possess supernumerary rights above and beyond that of other citizens. Police should be held to the same legal standards in the use of deadly force as any other citizen, no more and no less.

It is an abhorrent affront to the Constitution to afford a special class of government officers the right to avoid liability for Constitutional violations based on the judicially fabricated doctrine of “qualified immunity.” Such laws should be stricken from the books.

Any big breed dog can go off the reservation on you. I would be more worried about a mix breed vs a lab any day as well as an American Bulldog ( generally happy dogs) before a lab though.

I saw that Doberman were at the bottom of that list. My BIL has a huge Red Doberman and he basically trained it himself.... surprisingly it has a very good disposition.....actually most Doberman's I've encountered have good dispositions. My BIL's was a very good puppy even and was extremely kid friendly....he really likes kids and is as gentle as possible for a 90lb dog.

I am trying to imagine a grown man fearing a lab, and I just can't. Its like putting a female brain in a dude for someone to fear a yellow lab.

That guy walked in trigger happy, good thing for the German Shepherd he ran into the lab first.

I've been dog bit a few times and have never killed the dog or hurt the dog, as it was my fault.

I've always felt its the job of law enforcement to calm situations and try not to use force unless force is necessary.

Evidently I was wrong. If you fear, you can kill anything in sight apparently. Thats a failure of masculinity

Nine fatal attacks by labs in a 12 year period?

Are you fr*cking serious or is this a troll post?

If not, how many innocent civilians were “mistakenly” killed by police in botched “no-knock” raids during that same time frame?

1.) Why are you assuming I'm pro-no-knock raids?
2.) The actual number of deaths is irrelevant if it's being used to show Labrador placement amongst other breeds. They're in the top 10. Saying "but it was a lab" is essentially saying "but it's a dog". I guess outside of pits, maybe, an officer cannot shoot any dog running at him until an attack actually happens?

This is one topic that Hank for once will not be a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. One of Hank’s redeeming qualities is his love of dogs and general knowledge of dog breeds.

No, but the cop was a raging pussy and a coward. Thats just objectively true.

1. Dogsbite.org is a joke.

2. I don’t care what kind of dog it was. It was a residential neighborhood and he shouldn’t have shot until the dog was attacking him. If you can’t handle a dog bite to reduce the risk of killing a bystander you need another line of work.
