In the highly anticipated rulings in West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox, the high court upheld state laws requiring student-athletes to compete on sports teams that correspond with their biological sex at birth rather than their gender identity.

IF a state has no such law, does that mean that transgenders can compete against girls? And if a state that has these laws, then rescinds that law, can transgenders then compete against the girls again? I'm not sure this ruling is what we thought it was?

The court ruled having such laws does not violate Title IX or the Constitution.

The next question (presently unanswered) is whether laws allowing mentally ill men compete against biological females violate Title IX or the Constitution.

The NCAA and Olympic bans also stay in place.

Worth noting that the tranny boy in the case was accused of sexual harassment of the females on the team.

Who could’ve seen it coming?

i was wondering the same thing. It seems like it is saying it's still ok for a state to ban them from girl's sports, but it is up to each individual state to set the rules. People are saying they "can't" compete in girl's sports anymore.

That doesn't seem to be what the ruling says. It just says WV didn't violate the law by banning them. is that correct?

SCOTUS did not go that far. This was simply a case where a far leftist group filed suit against West Virginia to try to invalidate their law banning mentally disturbed dudes from competing against girls. That was the only question before the court. And, of course, the court said that West Virginia can ban transgender freaks in sports based upon biological sex.

It would’ve been nice had they gone that extra step, but they chose not to. The next case will have to be a “real” female filing suit against a state that allows transgender freaks to compete in girls sports. As someone mentioned above, that will almost certainly involve Title IX.

Correct. A clarification that Title IX is only for biological females is a good first step. Now the buzz in anti-trans spaces is that girls in somewhere like CA, for example, where mentally ill boys are allowed to participate in girls' sports, can sue and get this applied nationwide.

One of the national articles said they were banned from playing sports. Which is 100% false.

It’s a State matter. If the State wants boys playing girls sports, the State can choose that.
