quote:first, we are not fighting a war in Ukraine, Ukraine and Russia are. We are supplying weapons, something that Russia has done in every conflict the USA has fought since WW2, so I think turnabout is fair play. Second, Russia is advancing like 100 yards a day at the cost of hundreds of thousands of troops, thousands of tanks and dozens of aircraft every year this goes on. If they are winning, it's a Phyrric victory.
We’re losing a war in Ukraine right now

They’re irrelevant, and they’ve been that way for centuries. The Russians became the dominant Slavic power and they receded into history.

Poland would last two, three weeks

Ukraine had a large army and is being funded billions of dollars and armed to the teeth by the West. It’s not a knock on Russia’s military that they’re struggling ( but still winning) against Ukraine.

You should read your boys book about the unwinnable war in Ukraine.

The Poland that will have the highest military spending/GDP ratio in NATO? The Poland that has an active duty strength behind only the U.S. and Turkey in NATO? The Poland that intends to have the largest ground force in European NATO?
What about Russia's conquest has given you such incredible and misplaced faith?

All illegal conflicts since then.

I hear this shite, but don't see any evidence of it. Unlike the Gulf wars, where's the 24/7 news coverage. Oddly very little visual evidence to substantiate these Russian losses or any of it for that matter. Just odd.

quote:yes it is, and Ukraine's army was miniscule compared to Russia, and poorly armed with outdated Soviet era crap, and they sent Russia first line units running back across the whole country with their tails between their legs, well before the massive military aid started up, with nothing more than some cheap atgms and manpads. Russia had been completely humiliated militarily, and trying to act like they haven't just makes you look like you are dumb or a shill

Operation Barbarossa: The Biggest of All Time | Be careful about superlatives when you’re discussing military history, until you’re talking about Operation Barbarossa….
Before the Germans invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, the OKH (the German high command) estimated that at least 100 German divisions would be needed to vanquish the Soviets in a single campaign. The Germans ultimately mobilized over 130 divisions for the invasion, which included 7 whole armies and 4 panzer groups.
Numbered at over 3.5 million men, this massive fighting force included 17 total panzer divisions, 13 heavily armored infantry divisions, 9 security divisions, 4 mountain divisions and a cavalry division. The remainder of the invading German force was composed of infantry divisions.
After Operation Barbarossa commenced and summer progressed, the Germans had made tremendous inroads into the Soviet heartland. The German supreme command believed that Hitler’s goal of encircling and destroying the bulk of the Red Army west of the Dnieper River was achievable.
Indeed, by early Autumn, the number of Soviet divisions captured or destroyed by the OKH far exceeded the estimated number of Soviet troops the military command thought would be needed for the Red Army to capitulate. Yet the Russian Army was not destroyed and as one Soviet division after another was destroyed or encircled, another took it’s place at the front.
Before the Kursk Offensive and as the titanic struggle entered it’s 3rd summer, Hitler bitterly complained to Generalfeldmarschall Walter Model — one of Germany’s best generals — that the training and quality of German troops did not match that of the German Army in 1940 and 1941. Model matter-of-factly replied “Yes Mein Fuhrer; the soldiers of those armies are scattered in graves throughout Russia.” *
Even still, after the destruction of the 6th Germany Army at Stalingrad in early 1943, there still were more German troops in Russia than the invading force of 1941. Yet still Russia continued to pour ever more men and ever more material at the German invaders.

Because the West is using Ukraine to provoke Russia into a war. Meanwhile, the western media can frame Russia as the “aggressor”.

Russia made rapid advances during the opening weeks. Both sides have used older Soviet equipment. Yet, with all the equipment Ukraine has been sent, Russia is still winning.
