Surely you haven't forgotten that the press simply makes stuff up at will, eh? For instance, 60 Minutes has already blatantly done so in their interview with Desantis a short while back. And when I say making stuff up, I mean REALLY making stuff up. Who's gonna call them out for it once they all merge their efforts into one coordinated strategy against him, as they did with Donald Trump? Each other??
Another aspect that's beyond obvious in my mind is the current "subtle" operations by the Left to cultivate and nurture a "Team Trump vs Team Desantis" situation. It's been happening and it will continue to happen even moreso in the months to come. And they continue to attack Trump because they consider him their biggest threat.

I'm following you on that, and it's a valid point, but I guess what I'm getting at is the likelihood that they'll put Desantis in a position where he's going to be inclined to vigorously fight back, which often can be and is perceived as abrasive and aggressive. Now, don't get me wrong, I would hope that he does defend himself aggressively because these days if you don't, it's going to be seen by some folks as acquiescing to whatever the Left wing fake news claim it may be.
And the Left has such an easy time doing it......just calmly, passive aggressively throwing bomb after bomb after bomb. I believe that's the new thing - keep the opponent on the defensive at all times with disgustingly fake allegations and make the opponent have to get rough with them, despite the fact that by doing so they're hurting the entire country by essentially disallowing governance by a President for an entire 4 year period. Buncha scumbags.

He's definitely a damned ole hound dog when it comes to MSM. But isn't it highly likely that that exact trait (lack of politically correct filter) was a key factor in his Presidential victory to begin with? In other words, I believe it's possible that if he abandoned that approach he may well lose more votes than he would by keeping that approach.
