Texas is allowed to divide itself into 5 different states if it wants. It was one of the agreements in the resolution between the Republic of Texas and the United States when Texas became a State in 1845.

1) Has anyone figured out how you could split Texas into 5 states in a way to give you 3 Red states, which I have to assume would be your goal?
2) would any of the states have the strength of the single state of Texas?
3) If you could get 6 R senators out of it in small population states like South Dakota, how many House seats would you give up to the big cities? You could "possibly" gain a net of 2 Senators to even out Puerto Rico, but you would absolutely lose the Presidency and House every time.

I think Democrats would STRONGLY support breaking Texas up into 5 states.

The Texas split thing is never happening. If DC goes full authoritarian the momentum in Texas will be to leave. Not split up

The downvotes are in complete denial in what is going to happen. Guns outlawed in 2021 too.

They’ll vote for libtards. Care to explain how this will benefit the USA?

That would never be allowed. But even thinking further, Texas would have to split into 3-1 or 4-1 red to blue states to make it a benefit in the Senate, since they are +2 now. I can't see how that could be done. As I said, Dems would support it in a heartbeat.

Let Puerto Rico in and allow Tennessee to leave.

We will take our chances.

Puerto Rico gets all the free stuff without the taxes presently.

Median income in Puerto Rico is <$20k. The vast majority of them won’t be paying income taxes. The vast majority of them will qualify for welfare and food stamps. They’ll be getting LOTS MORE free stuff. We are already $27 trillion in debt. This might be what we finally need to push us over that Cloward-Piven cliff.

This. Everyone argues that PR will never do it because they will have to pay taxes. You're exactly right- when 90% of your territory is below the poverty line, you don't pay a dime. But you do get every single benefit imaginable. This will cost us trillions, all so Democrats can get more votes.

You are partially wrong. Puerto Rico will become the 52nd state in the US, not the 51st.

58th according to Hussein.
