Buy ammo when you can, not when you are low or planning to use it. You don’t have to walk it, water it, or talk nice to it. In fact put it in vaccusealed bag in a climate controlled area and it will last decades.

Yeah, that's what I have always done, but too many of my friends and family, haven't done that, and now they are regretting it.

A 1000% state tax on ammunition doesn't.

Does that also mean he need to actually get shot at with live rounds to simulate actual combat?

Who the hell said anything about combat?

Drills are great but NOTHING replaces putting rounds down range...

Nope. Not necessarily. It takes 1 or 2 liberal justices on the Supreme Court. They can twist it to yield the result they want.

See Roberts decision on Obamacare. See Roberts on the Nevada church case where casinos can remain open at 50% but churches can only have a max of 50 people. Over reach and discrimination by the governors and Roberts and SCOTUS turn a blind eye.

That is why electing Trump is critical. The SCOTUS can change so much.

The way that I feel about it, for most experienced shooters, the things that need to be practiced regularly, are the simple basic things, that don't really require firing a round. It's all the stuff that happens before the round fires, that determine if you make a good shot.

I recently bought a MantisX system for this purpose. So far, it's been pretty cool. Just FYI if you're interested in dry-fire practicing (and saving that ammo ).

Look, I'm sorry if you are misunderstanding things. Shooting is better than not shooting, but this thread was about saving ammo. Ammo is hard to come by right now, and availability is probably not going to improve anytime soon. Work on the things that you can, but save your ammo as much as possible. Stance, Drawing smoothly and acquiring your target quickly, are things that can be practiced without firing, so are stock weld, breathing and trigger pull. Being the greatest shot in the world, won't do you much good if you run out of ammo and can't get anymore.

For the record, Biden's platform includes banning online gun and AMMO sales. Think about how many people who have ammo right now might not have it if they couldn't buy it online. They won't come for the guns. They'll whack you in the kneecaps by making ammo impossible to acquire. That isn't so far-fetched.

I understood you perfectly fine. You said you could go a year without putting a round down range and come back and put rounds exactly where you want to put them. You cannot and I don't give a damn how many drills you do.

You will get no argument out of me that no one needs to be wasting ammo right now BUT your assertion that there are drills and exercises that are just as good as putting rounds down range is just patently false.

Everyone needs live practice, even world class shooters...

Dude, you don't have a clue about my abilities, only your own. I didn't start this thread to be a pissing match, but I can tell you, my statement is factual. Do what makes you feel better. I started this thread with basic advice.

Repeal doesn't have to be formal.

The courts can simply ignore it.
