I am not much of a hunter but I know enough to know that one, you don't wait for your prey to attack you before shooting them and two, you don't run from your prey when you see it. Based on those facts, Rittenhouse did a pretty shite job at hunting that night.
For comparison, Jose Ibarra went hunting for humans. He found Laken Riley who was unarmed and defenseless.
Kyle Rittenhouse ran from people who were hunting him. In his case, he was not unarmed and defenseless when they caught him.
