And I'm glad we had to blow up the entire health care industry so those 7 million could get cheap plans. Totally worth it.

This is why everything is falling apart.

If you took all of the money spent on the websites, the advertising of Obamacare, and everything related to it, you could have provided health insurance for those in the gap between Medicaid and job coverage 1000 times over.

This was about more than that.

Or a step closer to the realization that gov't needs to stay the frick out of something so personal like our healthcare and gov't cannot be trusted to make good decisions for its citizens.

Are they still counting people as signed up even if they haven't paid/pulled the trigger and have merely created an account and selected a plan on the website?

Yes... And an estimated (from independent surveys) 20% that even purchased have not paid....

The true number of people who didn't have insurance, signed up, and paid is going to be around 750k

I have been in health care for 20 years.

Elections have consequences.

All that was needed to fill the gap between the poor and the not job covered was a reasonable chunk of money. It required a small solution.

Instead, the Democrats got their claws in so they now control 1/5 of our economy and nothing good is coming of it.

Like I said, 20 years in health care.

It is going to destroy everything in health care.

Everyone is scared, everyone is pulling back, everyone is paranoid.

Best case scenario is that we are all in something similar to the VA system in 5 years. That is not a good thing if you are a clueless retard that thinks the government is efficient at doling out health care.

Now now.

Best case scenario is the Obamabot bastards get their incompetent asses whacked.

We tell the insurance industry that preexisting conditions for folks who've maintained coverage will not be held against them, and insurance coverage can cross statelines.

We tell the medical community we are moving to a Euro-style health system, and concomitantly order all hospitals, clinics, and providers to publicize their price/charge lists.

Is this the same LA Times that won't publish letters questioning the theory of man-made "climate change"?

Let's hear it for the free exchange of ideas!

Edit>>In all fairness it is an "opinion" piece. But a quick glance at the paper shows there's not much difference.

Therefore the answer is this bloated, worthless, piece of shite legislation.

Hostage taker: " pay the ransom or I'll kill your wife and kids!"

Hostage husband: " ok but don't hurt my family!"

But perfectly ok to have your employer entwined in something so personal like your healthcare and trusting a profit run business to make good decisions for the citizens

The ACA might not be the perfect answer but neither was the system in place before.

I wish all these repubs who constantly boast they are experts on healthcare would actually put forth a plan rather than bitching about the ACA.

Do you have any idea how many times this has been done already?

There are least 3 out there.

But I guess you wouldn't know that, because the MSM ignores them, and Harry Reid runs the country.

If they have then it's their fault for not getting the message out more loudly. Maybe instead of trying to repeal the ACA for the 50th time or running non-stop attack ads, they should focus a little more effort on offering their solutions.

I'm very happy with Obamacare. I was able to sign up myself and my family, one person in it with pre-existing conditions, for a decent rate. Before Obamacare that would have been very difficult.

Thank you President Obama.

If Obamacare was such a well-constructed piece of legislation, why has Obama delayed implementing the employer mandate multiple times? Why is he so reluctant to fully implement his own wonderful piece of legislation?

Honest replies only, please.

I'm sure that all the welfare recipients who do nothing and live off of the money earned by others feel the same way.
