Why are those the two sides?

Well, we know we end up with a human on the right side of the line.

And, one side argues that at some point working backwards, it ain't human.

So. Basically, I'm granting BOTH positions. I rarely feel it is productive in debate to simply ignore the other guy's position.

So. I'm saying, "accepting where the other side and I agree............and granting that the other side says that at some point it's OK to kill(not human)......that's our points on the line".

Yes. Obviously, there are people who reside at varying points in the line saying it's OK to abort but we.....again, with pretty rare exception.............ALL agree we can't kill it 5 minutes after it pops out cause it's human.

So, when have a discussion on pretty much any subject, it's often most productive to start from where all parties agree.

Ok, so why isn't it "the left side being DEFINITELY not human and the right side being DEFINITELY HUMAN?"

I do have another question in this thread.

Why has this thread devolved into debate on abortion?

Shouldn't we all be able to agree on the following?

1. It's not OK to assault peacefully demonstrating pro-lifers

2. It's not OK to assault peacefully demonstrating pro-choicers

Because there's disagreement on one end, and agreement on the other. I mean, if you prefer, I can say the left side is "we disagree on the status" and the right side is "we agree".

Hence, since we BOTH agree on the right side...........this means ONE side believes that working backwards, it ceases to be human.

Hence, they ought to be able to articulate when that literal magic moment occurred.

I used to be vehemently pro-choice..........Alas, I recognized that I cannot even BEGIN to answer that question and not another person alive can.

DB has never seen an abortion thread he could resist staying out of. Perhaps best not to feed the troll.

Not really. Did you even define where those lines are?

What?

There are half a dozen examples on the first page alone.

If there were no disagreement, this thread wouldn't exist.

1. Pretty much everyone agrees 5 minutes after it pops out equals "it's a human".

2. With pretty friggin rare exception, pretty much everyone agrees the same 5 minutes before it pops out

3. Somewhere, working back, disagreement grows.

Call it a line or whatever is your preference.

I'm simply starting with where everyone agrees and asking, working backwards from birth a couple of perfectly fair questions.

1. When, in THEIR pro choice minds, does the baby shift from human even in THEIR eyes to "not human" or, more succinctly, "ok to kill"

2. What is their rationale for that moment......because......it is absolutely a MOMENT in time.

Struck with cane

Really? Seems a bit dramatic. I went into the video thinking someone whacked a guy with a cane. At best, he was poked. Doesn't make it right either way.

I just can't believe this all happened in Mississippi.

You know you're wasting your time on Buckeye and his schtick...

He likes to "Hillary" his positions where he gives some sort of vague bullzhit non-answer "answer" that doesn't pin him down because he's incapable of fomenting a coherent argument to buffer his "positions".....

He divides his time between sniffing his own farts and strutting around the chess-board pretending he won....

Back to a question from earlier: The old aggressor came toward the victim and stabbed at him with the end of his cane. Yes, that deserved an arse beating. And then the oil-change guy puts both hands on the protestor's chest and shoves him.

Still don't blame the cop for not cuffing and stuffing. He kept the peace, mostly. Both sides exercised their rights to protest.
