United Airlines CEO wants to make Covid vaccines mandatory for employees — and encourages other companies to do the same
CEO of United Airlines Scott Kirby wants mandatory COVID vaccination for his employees. We are aware that such a thing would be controversial. With how bad the virus has done to family and businesses, it is understandable for wanting to pursue this.
Kirby may not be the only one as there are rumors of other business leaders wanting mandatory vaccination. These are just rumors so please don't take it seriously.

It’s a stance that differs from other airlines and companies in other sectors like retail and auto manufacturing.
“The worst thing that I believe I will ever do in my career is the letters that I have written to the surviving family members of coworkers that we have lost to the coronavirus,” CEO Scott Kirby said at an employee town hall Thursday, a transcript of which was reviewed by CNBC. “And so, for me, because I have confidence in the safety of the vaccine – and I recognize it’s controversial – I think the right thing to do is for United Airlines, and for other companies, to require the vaccines and to make them mandatory.”
United had more than 60,000 active U.S. employees at the end of 2020 and has sent recall notices to some 17,000 other workers whose jobs were cut last year.

These aren't rumors. Anyone with half a brain can see this coming. Having to choose between your job and an unproven, half-arse tested vaccine for which there is NO information about long term effects is right around the corner.

Sadly, the courts will permit businesses to do this. That’s how trumped up China virus has become. Get used to it, sadly.

Pretty sure HIPPA laws exist and you don't have to do shite.
Can a private company demand you get a medical procedure as a condition of continued employment?

Does AA want to sign a waiver to pay all medical costs associated with use of this vaccine should any problems arise?
If not, they can’t force mandatory compliance.

I thought the vaccine didn’t help stop the spread

Scott Kirby wants this virus gone so that the world's economy can finally get back on the rails along with not dealing with the potential emotional damage of losing loved ones from the said virus. He wants mandatory vaccination in his business to help defeat the virus.

Health systems already require the flu vaccine through some legal avenue. This will end up the same with expansion to non-healthcare industries like airlines. I’ve said it from the beginning - all travel related companies/govt entities will require the vaccine, amusement businesses like Disney, concerts, sporting events will require it as well. Once we roll through vaccinating the at risk population and can normalize production and distribution this will be the push. Doesn’t matter if it’s legal today or not, there will be nothing we can do to stop it from being so because the democrats control govt and the courts are corrupted.

They’ll end up with legal exemption of liability.

If we've learned one thing during COVID it is this....a lot of people think they know something about HIPPA....about 2% of them actually do.

Absolutely....although I wouldn't consider a vaccine a "procedure"....my dad was required to take MRI's to go back to work many times...and nothing was wrong with him it was triggered by age.

Not half-assed if the most prevalent of them, Pfizer and Moderna, have tested thousands of people and showing solid results with using the new mRNA biotech that was tested and developed for decades.

he EEOC has already given the green light for employers to require the vaccine.
Thank heavens I work for a small enough company that won't require it.

Never claimed to, hence why I asked the question.

but if it fricks YOU over because your employer made you take it I am sure there will be a shiny new EO absolving them of all responsibility.

Nothing safe can be developed and tested properly in under 9 months. Nothing! And this vaccine was developed under 'emergency conditions' which means it was legally allowed not to go through all of the normal steps and stages of development and testing.
If you want to get it, be my guest! Just don't make me or anyone else who doesn't think it's safe get it if we don't want to.

May have caught the back end on the news, but are Airlines going to start soon requiring domestic customers to have negative tests before boarding? Or is it for international customers coming here?

Remember when we used to buy those fake IDs from china so we could get into bars at 17?
You think they'll help us out with this Vaccine ID?
