Actually, most of the borders were not arbitrary, but the borders of the Ottoman Empire's provinces. Those borders were drawn quite purposefully, to ensure that no province could survive on its own. Much like the Soviet Union's satellite states, the lines were drawn in such a way that competing factions would fight among themselves rather than fight the Ottomans, that no single province could be self-sufficient resource-wise.

The Sykes-Picot Agreement resulted in arbitrary divisions of the Middle East based on British and French negotiation over their own national interests. The borders were arbitrary in that they were not determined organically or through self-determination.

Don't forget that the British Foreign Service engineered the alSaud/alWahab alliance way back in the 1700s with the intention of wielding it against the Ottomans.

I am certainly not insulted to be called a Jew, but many non-Jews use it distinctly as a perjorative and are I’ll at ease when I tell them my nickname.
That changes occurred due to Jews moving from Eastern Europe to Israel necessarily happened as us a result of any migration. But the pogroms in Europe and Russia, the expulsion and persecution of Jews directly created that migration. Hundreds of thousands did not migrate, they FLED, leaving behind THEIR homes and property to save their lives. Zionism was a result of other pressures. It is disingenuous and oh so very British to blame others who only responded as would any other human.

Except for the thousands who stayed behind and dwelled there in relative peace for the next 1800 years. Oh, and "The Return" started in the 19th century. Jews were buying up massive amounts of property in what would become Israel during the Ottoman Empire days going back to the late 1800's. The Ottomans welcomed them due to the province being largely depopulated by the Crusades. The Israeli settlers made the desert bloom.
The Palestinians were repeatedly given chances to share the land peacefully and chose the sword every time. Israel is far from blameless for this conflict and I often disagree with their actions, but the Palestinians are not martyrs either.

I have to believe that most who believe that evil Jews run the world simply do not know that many Jews. Jews cannot agree on anything enough to participate in some massive world domination conspiracy. Heck, you strand two Jews on an island, they'll have to build two temples.
