And then the backlash on social media was such a storm that they couldn't ignore it. The packers were so fricking greedy that when cattle prices started going the boxed beef index diverged and went higher, which made Trump look wrong because he was wrong.
And Ranchers don’t set the prices they have no control over pricing. Just like us in the catfish industry the processors set the pricing. All we can do to influence it is refuse to sell fish if we feel the price should be higher but most can’t afford to hold out long enough with no cash flow to do that.

Hasn’t he totally decimated the meatpacking workforce due to his policies on deportations and immigration?

Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), a Trump ally whose family raises cattle, told Vice President JD Vance last month that meatpackers were the reason for high beef prices, not ranchers, an argument Trump echoed Friday.
The ranchers just need to clear a profit. They're a different breed than the monetary gluttons on Wall Street.
I can believe the packing plants is the problem. And I can believe a lot of the issue is that many of them probably no longer have their cheap workers thanks to our hard-line illegal immigration stance. Time for them to figure out how to clear a profit with LEGAL employees and do things right for the average American consumer.

i mean it’s not that hard to see what’s going on. Trump was upset about beef prices, and rightfully so. He then met with Senators who are more in the know, and now he understands the real cause of the issue.
The resources are pointed in the right direction because of his leadership.

Been a shitshow all the way back to Iowa Beef Processors crushed the packing industry.

Absolutely correct. The meat packers have been doing this since the late 1880’s. Read some history about their previous dealings. They are notorious for price fixing, driving down cattle prices to squeeze the ranchers and pummel the retail market. He is on the right track!

Guess who works for the meat packers…

I believe he called for ranchers to get their prices down. He is all over the place.
And he lost their support.
Really? In favor of Democrats and liberals that want less meat production and consumption because of "global warming?"
You sure about that?

You do realize beef isn't the only meat that can be bought at the grocery store.
Right?
Exactly. Beef cattle are being negatively impacted by screw worm infestations too.
