Agree wholeheartedly and much preferable to the Lindsay Lohan “Mean Girls” remake that has been running non-stop on this board in recent weeks.
Let’s hopefully put the focus and ire back squarely where it deservedly belongs: Joetato and the Proggy Puppet brigade.

DeSantis is smart enough to negotiate a gentleman's agreement with Trump if he decides to challenge Trunp in the primary. I suspect Trump is floating the idea of making Desantis his VP if he wins the Republican nomination or if DeSantis decides not to run for POTUS. Trump is smart enough to realize he needs Desantis voters to get over the finish line in a general election so hopefully they are entering into a gentleman's agrement to not completely trash each other.
I support Trump but I do think DeSantis needs to run if for no other reason than to be a safe fallback option if the unthinkable happens. I don't trust the Democratic party and the Deep State to not go full on Joseph Stalin on Trump or worse if/when he wins the Republican nomination.

Honestly, if DeSantis is dumb enough to consider leaving FL to be a figurehead for Trump knowing that it'll inevitably end with 25% of the GOP electorate convinced DeSantis is a traitor who deserves life in prison or worse because of some falling out with Trump somewhere down the line...
...he's lost my vote anyway.

If Trump is the nominee his running mate will be someone with nothing to lose like Haley or Lake
RDS or any other Republican with a future knows they would be tainted if they were part of a campaign that would get crushed in the general

Ok. He’s killed it once given the chance to be in office.

It would be best for conservative America. Why would it be bad for DeSantis? It's best for all he represents, gives him 4 years to observe, first hand, how the swamp operates, and 4 years to make "connections".
What are reasons it wouldn't happen?

I don't believe Trump/DeSantis would get crushed, unless there is more widespread cheating.

True. But I don't believe the divison between Trump and Ron is anywhere near what is being portrayed.
Ron taking VP would be a great move. It in no way leaves Florida in a bad place and gives him standing to name his successor and guarantee Florida remains RED.

Trump isn't winning the general
Observe what? RDS was in Congress I'm sure he has an idea

since we are talking history
Story from 2018, Ron filing his admin with, well, you decide how swampy
They advise Ron DeSantis. They were also top campaign donors.
At least 22 of DeSantis' biggest campaign donors are helping him mold policy before he takes office Jan. 8.
a taste:
The most high-profile of these donors may be Kent Stermon, the chief operating officer of a company that contracts with the federal government to relocate military members. Stermon leads DeSantis' committee on public safety. Along with the CEO of the same company, Matt Connell (who's on DeSantis' economy committee), Stermon rented DeSantis a beachside condo while he was in Congress — prompting an ethics complaint.
In DeSantis' entire political career in federal and state races, Stermon and his wife have given DeSantis nearly $40,000.
He told the Times/Herald that he and DeSantis became friends through mutual social circles in Jacksonville nearly 10 years ago, before DeSantis ran for Congress, and he's since helped DeSantis' campaigns as a "labor of love." Stermon said he served as DeSantis' Northeast Florida chair for his run for governor. He said his top priorities on the public safety committee are school safety and supporting law enforcement.
"He trusts me to do it right," Stermon said. "He has so many people coming after him right now. I don't want anything from him."
Others include Ronald Howse, who spoke to the Times/Herald in September about his donation of time on a private plane that he subsidized. Howse, a retired civil engineer who serves on the Florida Transportation
Commission, was appointed to DeSantis' economic committee. He joined Frederick Sontag, the president of a venture capital firm and a nonprofit who donated $500,000 to DeSantis' state PAC in May and thousands more since.
seems pretty swampy 4 years ago

Honestly we all still love Ron. We just don’t love Ron when he’s trying to move against Trump. We'll love him again when he’s back on board. How about you?

People standing by until Trump decides to step aside is not the way things work
