It thought that at first as well. But it won’t be AS bad as I initially thought. Yes it’s a tax credit advance essentially. But it’s only for 6 months. And I guess the child credit is doubling. So the money that families are going to be getting for the most part is part of that doubled credit that they have never received before.
So with the tax credit advance and the doubling of the child credit they pretty much off set.

It will only be for six months so the harder hit at tax time, to families who don’t adjust their withholding, won’t be until tax time 2023.

Folks who don’t make enough to pay taxes can get an automatic advance on a tax credit they can’t claim , don’t know how to ask for, and didn’t pay for. This is progress.

I really am scared this will be the point where inflation is very noticeable.
It's one thing to mail one time or two time checks during a pandemic, but giving a family with 2 kids $500 a month of printed money indefinitely will absolutely cause inflation no matter what the Fed tries to spin.
Republicans might take back the house and stop them from raising taxes, but they will not stop this program. Name a single program the republicans have ended once they took power back.
