Why would they slaughter 50,000 innocent protesters?
because thats what they thought they can get away with. using a nuke on another country gets them wiped off the face of the earth. we would drop 1 or 2 back. if not more. There is no logic in the suicide it would be nuking us.

Yet you sit here trying to make us believe that any day now, nukes from Iran will be flying.
I think you missed a day of class, or you didn't take good notes. Whether or not Iran is on the threshold is irrelevant. The problem is, they were actively building a shield to hide and protect the advancement of their nuclear ambitions. It was the opinion of CINC that they were nearing a tipping point beyond which the costs of stopping them began to rise above our ability to comfortably pay them. You can reject that rationale, but pretending you haven't heard it or that you don't understand it makes your ongoing contributions to the debate worthless.

Why does Israel get nuclear weapons?
They aren't a fundamentalist theocratic state with the stated agenda to destroy their neighbor.
Israel, on the other hand, being a fundamentalist theocratic state currently actively destroying all of their neighbors.
I guess we found the Jewish member of the thread.

Also, in 2025, a DIA report concluded that Iran didn't have ballistic missiles capable of hitting the U.S. and might not achieve such a capability until 2035 or later.
Quit the fear porn.
The proponents of this war - sorry, unlimited military excursion - aren't afraid that Iran will hit US with thermonuclear ballistic missile strikes - they clearly only care about their precious chosen ethnostate to the exclusion of all else.

French Partnership: France supplied the 24-megawatt research reactor and technical expertise for the Dimona facility, crucial for plutonium reprocessing. This partnership was driven by shared interests, including the 1956 Suez Crisis.
Domestic Development: Israel, driven by David Ben-Gurion's belief that nuclear capability was essential for survival, developed its own scientific expertise and secretly built the Dimona nuclear complex in the Negev desert.
This is what comes off the Interwebs. They were smart enough to work to get nuclear weapons and they got help from France. As usual the US was caught by surprise. Just like North Korea and Pakistan and probably India.

Once you kick and stomp on the hornets nest, you can change course and try to make friends with it. At that point, it is Kill or Be Killed.

So your source is the UN report, and you're disregarding what the IAEA states?
The agency that was tasked with monitoring Iran's nuclear activity?
Interesting
Satellites?
Sure thing, buddy.
Are you familiar at all with how Hitler got around WWI sanctions on Germany to build the wehrmacht?
The rest is moot, since you concede they are trying to refine weapons grade material.
Except for the "diplomatic footing" part.
The largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world. A deterrent.
You ever read about the leaked Iranian plans to detonate a nuke over Seattle around 2012?
How about their plan to eliminate Israel by 2040?
I'm no huge fan of the zionists, but their interests often align with ours. Remember how the US teamed up with Russia to knock out the ISIS caliphate in Syria? Mutual interests.

Neither do you, or anyone else on this board. Everything we post about current Iranian capabilities is pure speculation.
Is this supposed to be an argument for inaction?
No. But tell me how any US based citizen was actually being threatened by Iran. Or how this war helps any middle class 40 hour a week people.

IAEA is the UN my dawg. They took issue with known material being taken to another site and Iran not giving answers as to why. It was safely assumed that they were enriching to weapon grade material. We bombed the site.
You do realize the material is very easy to track...even underground.

Look it up buddy. They sure do have a few.

Non Sequitur as far as this is concerned.

Dude, Ima tell you this but realize, it doesn't bother me. I accept that we are empire and that we do things we think only the bad guys do.
We are the world's largest sponser of terrorism. From Central America, South America, to Afganistan (yeah, Al Qeada...that was us), to Kosovo (which lead to massacres in Bosnia and Kosovo at the hands of the Serbs), to ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The list goes on and on.
At least try to be honest here.

Ever ask yourself why they hate us? Maybe it had to do with deposing their government and installing a puppet state. Maybe it is our undying love for a state which actively massacres Muslims (and Christians).

No. They do not. No ally would steal nuclear material from us. No ally would get caught in the very worst case of espionage in our nation's history.
Of course if you align with indiscriminate killing of Muslims and Christians alike, maybe Israel is the place for you.

John McCain is still crying in his grave. ISIS was his baby. Started it and ensured it was funded until the very end.

I guess half or more of the posters on here aren’t old enough to know what happen under Jimmy Carter . Plus all the horrible attacks by these evil cowards. Reagan and every US president since him is the blame for why we are where we are today. These bastards should have been a desert country back in the 80s. I still have faith in orange to get this done . People today have no patience for nothing .

IAEA is an autonomous organization within the UN.
The 2024 IAEA findings had Iran's "breakout time" as little as two weeks. If that conflicts w/ the UN report, so be it. I guess one of the two is incorrect.
Yes, we bombed the (all?) sites, and we know there had recently been work being done at those sites.
And Nazi Germany is relevant in the way they also bullshitted around to get past sanctions placed on them. Same way that Iran started violating the JCPOA from BEFORE jump street.
Wonder how much their "satellite tech" advanced their IRBM's?
And I'm aware of how many countries hate us and for prolly good reason (wonder why Ukraine doesnt hate us for overthrowing their government?) . But, no. Iran is the largest sponsor of terrorism. Even other Muslim countries hate them and know they can't get that capability.
The WHY they hate us is immaterial to the fact that Iran cannot have nukes.
I didn't say I thought of Israel as an ally. I said their interests often align with ours.
You left out the USS Liberty, btw.
Killing of christians and Muslims? Huh. Maybe that's some common ground for Israel and Iran to improve relations.
