He’s been sitting on his arse for 11 years. Has way too many skeletons in his closet. The last thing he looks like he wants to do is get off the couch, battle 20 lunatic Democrats for a year only to be rewarded with a knock down drag out battle with Trump who plays by his own rules politically and will repeatedly bring up every mistake Biden has made over the last 50 years. He’s not built for this at his age and basically not having campaigned seriously in decades. Obama, pulled all the weight.

If that happens, Buttigieg gets his center left support initially. But it won’t be nearly enough without having a single black voter support him, so it will be a short lived boost. As the less principled of the center left realize that mayor Pete has no chance, they’ll jump ship for Kamala thinking she’s the least radical of the high polling looney toons gang (while also checking the diversity boxes). Meaning the center left vacuum will just be pulled to the far left, and 90% of the dem party will look the other way as it happens because orange man bad.
Meanwhile independents across the country will watch this circus while feeling increasing disdain for the radical takeover of the dem party and they will ultimately decide that orange man is not in fact so bad after all.
