It was even less than that in the aftermath of Katrina.

Look at the quality of people who were the main ones affected in Katrina.
A lot of those individuals are ones who would have been doing that shite anyway and the lack of NOPD coverage due to the storm gave them the opportunity.

You didn’t see the 10 pages dedicated to the new “40 acres and a Dodge Charger” program?
No. I missed it.
But I worry that this will make things ever tougher for mom and pop business...
Let's say your family owned a corner lot in the city and ran a small business.. IRS could take it and sell to corporate chains who can afford it. A Mom and pop prolly couldn't be able to raise the money to buy the building, corporate chains can.
This crap is anti small business.

meaning we probably have about 100K or so combat troops and a lot of REMFs who keep the supplies moving.
In this day and age, I believe many of the military put into this position would not carry out "war" against their brothers, sister, mothers, fathers, etc.

I think there are a lot of people who would get off on doing stormtrooper shite.
And I bet a bunch of people serving alongside them already hate them and won’t miss an opportunity to frag them if they see a way to do it without repercussions.

accountants are not goons.
That is some intense accounting.

Yeah, I remember my accounting classes in college taking place on the football field, as we needed to be able to bowl over the businessman in order to get to the books and look at them. /sarc

The 600 billionaires in this country need 80k auditors. Clearly…

Had this thought also. An evolution in them going off the deep end is the possibility that people will stop paying their taxes en masse. Well here's 90,000 enforcement agents to keep you in line.

A tax revolt in this country isn’t total non-payment of taxes, it is adjusting your withholding to take the least amount out legally possible so that you are not giving them significant funds until either April 15 or at the end of any quarter, depending on the situation.
Tax protesters are typically dealt with by the IRS showing up at a business and demanding that the person in question have full withholding taken out and that it not be changed without the IRS’s approval.
Problem for them is that, even with 80,000+ new agents, they can’t go into half the businesses in America and put force accounting to do full withholding with no exemptions on all of those businesses’ employees.
They can certainly try, but they would have to be regularly keeping up with every business because employee churn at employers is high enough that people switch employers often. Every time that happens, new withholding has to be set up and the agents have to follow up on it.
This is very easy to do on a micro level when it is a few guys who stir the shite at their individual employer.
It becomes harder to enforce when it is widespread, especially because they will frick up along the way and withhold more than they should based on legitimate situations (married, number of dependents) along with raising payroll taxes on everyone only to get a refund come March or April.
The number of people taking a major income hit through widespread frickery with withholding should scare the government far more than the right wing.

Very doubtful. I will say it once more too many guns and ammo in private hands, too much land to cover, and it would turn into a slaughter. You'd lose half of the military if ordered to try a gun grab and it what would a POTUS do? Bomb his own people?.No ,they will try to levy taxes and fees ,but it will be tied up in litigation for years to come. Believe it or not America is moving further right on gun rights. 80K agents is for going after money in the middle and upper middle class.
Posted on 8/11/22 at 12:58 pm to stelly1025
Which is a slight problem for the government as stupid policies are destroying the middle class.
