Democrats are well known for enacting “gun control” via unrelated manufactured laws & regs.

I predict the IRS will soon be tasked with collecting some type of tax on firearms and these goons will cone knocking.

In January 1919, two-thirds of America’s state legislatures officially approved the 18th Amendment, banning the manufacture, sale and distribution of liquor. Prohibition was set to begin one year later, on January 17, 1920.

While the 18th Amendment was only a few pages long, the Volstead Act took up 17 pages singled spaced in Congress’ legislative record for 1919. In language that some found confusing, the act called for the commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (in the Treasury Department) to oversee enforcement and make adjustments to the regulations as needed. The IRS subsequently established the Prohibition Unit, staffed by agents who were not required to take Civil Service exams, leaving the door open for members of Congress and local pols to appoint their cronies, including applicants with questionable backgrounds. The government provided funds for only 1,500 agents at first to enforce Prohibition across the country. They were issued guns and given access to vehicles, but many had little or no training.

I think that you are close... My biggest fear is that they have the ability to seize property.

Late with taxes... The government takes your land

Armed accountants seizing guns from the public?

Yeah, good luck with that.

If they try that, there will be a sudden surge in widows in this country.

Don't know the exact amount but the total amount of ammo 's costs as specified in this bill is unbelievable. For "CPA's". Point being, these won't be CPA-types.

I’m sure no one will feel intimidated during an armed audit.

I was downvoted for saying this before but these “IRS” agents are just federal employees of a different name. This was a way to sneak in funding but they will work with FBI and ATF.

The older I get, the less I have to lose. The less I have to lose, the more dangerous I become.

Perhaps...no, likely. But Steve Cortes said on Warroom today that the Joint Committee on Taxation (jct.gov) put out info stating they expect 78 to 90% of revenue generated by upcoming audits will be taken from those making under $200K.

During J. Edgar Hoovers tenure at the FBI, accountants and lawyers were hired as agents. They were not exactly nerds were they?

I’m wondering how this is going to work.

They can make people miserable going forward for small selling via PayPal, Venmo, etc, but they can’t come in ex post facto and say “You had undeclared income!” on something that was not considered income at that time.

1.3 million active duty military
800,000 reserve military
850,000 law enforcement officers
87,000 new armed IRS agents
vs

100 million armed but untrained people

I wouldnt want to be on the government side of that fight. Less than 100,000 insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan bogged down our military for 20 years. And that was without the military being expected to fire upon its own citizens. The US would fall into a civil war the likes of which the world has never seen.

Millions would die. Some from direct contact but most from starvation, lack of clean water, and disease. When things fall apart and truckers and railroad stop running food and fuel will run out. The saying about anarchy being just 9 missed meals away will come to fruition.

It is an unwinnable fight.

This should be held up and challenged in the courts as this has no constitutional bearing at all.

This also assumes active duty military are capable of handling anything.

They have destroyed the ability of the military to respond through a lot of bullshite and the general ratio of support troops to combat troops is about 10:1, meaning we probably have about 100K or so combat troops and a lot of REMFs who keep the supplies moving.

With all the combat guys discharged over the last few years, I wonder how many actual combat-ready troops they have.
