Didn't basically the same thing happen somewhere in Arkansas a few years back?

Yes. I'm thinking it was Albert Pike area. It's In a valley and the water rose very fast at night..

I'm praying for these people in Texas.

Prayers to the parents and all of those affected by this tragedy. Mother Nature is never to be taken lightly.

Also the terrain in the area of heaviest rainfall (up to 5 inches/hr for ~ 4 hours) is quite rugged, with a drop of about 1,500 feet over the Balcones Escarpment, which lies about 30 miles west of Austin & San Antonio. The huge volume of water from the torrential rains west of the escarpment acted like a funneling cascade in its swoosh toward the east.

On DU there was a thread saying these are white Christian rich girls “who’s parents most likely voted for Trump” so who cares

If you want to know what kind of people are posting over there

Even their crazy mods knew to delete it

Yeah, and this joint had plenty of people cheering for California to burn.

There is no shortage of garbage humans to go around.

You're a liar. Don't you have enough decency to just say that the DU scumbags who said they dont care because it's Christian white kids whose parents probably voted for Trump are despicable.

You're a POS.

Oh yeah. That happens multiple times a year. Every single freaking year. It’s sick and the dipshits that do it gloss over that most places where these fires are happening are republican areas. All they see is California and they lose their minds.

For the people in Texas being hit with this they need every single bit of help they can get right now and into the future. Prayers, therapists, food… you name and they need it. This is horrible news.

You’re full of it. We were all in support of FedGov involved - which he did. Trump solved their problem they were too incompetent to handle.

No one wanted houses to burn but everyone knew they would bc of the non-maintained brush. Was only a matter of time.

You should take back what you said. Not cool.

Your right. The mystic camp is essentially the headwaters area if you look at the entire river system. Those kind of areas where a bunch of feeder creeks meet.

There is an obvious difference between the fires in California and that flood. Such being that the Progressive Leadership in California caused the fires and as well the inept ability to fight them. In fairness to those who out of frustration and anger lashed out at California for supporting Progressive Leadership, that is totally different than the “Christian and White “ haters on DU who mock a natural tragedy and loss of those innocents. They should purge that hatred from their hearts or they will sorely regret it.

Having Granddaughters that age I cannot imagine the pain therein. Those parents will never see a happy 4th of July again. Or any other day for that matter. Prayers that the Holy Spirit lends comfort.

I used to wonder why Jesus would say that “if you do not hate this world, the love of the Father is not in you”. Now I understand.
