Being let go from employment is a problem? Like, in general?

You’re wrestling the tar baby of the Poliboard.

Laid off in 2008 from my dream job that I only had for a year. Picked my self up and moved on. All these years later I couldn't be happier in my current position.

People join FedGov for job security. And for a job where you don’t have to work much for a decent pay.
Like all industries, FedGov shouldn’t be immune from downturns

The last 18 months have been professional hell for me. With no relief in sight. They can join the crowd.

I experienced a layoff for approximately two weeks during the 1980s and another layoff lasting nine months in 2020/2021. In both instances, I was able to maintain financial stability. Remarkably, during the nine-month layoff, I did not need to use my savings. When I returned to work in early 2021, I earned a higher income than ever before, and this upward trend in my earnings has continued each year since then.

Is that what's being discussed, or what I replied to?

Apparently lots of jobs in agriculture are opening

In. It really fricked up my career path too.
But no one gave it a second thought or shed a single tear.

Not since 1983 then went to work for a competitor where I found out that a gal with former employer was basically their whore for trying to get new clients. They sent her to the hotel room of a Grman client of my new employer. He was very faithful to his wife, though he loved to drink and watch tiddy dancers.

In. Got laid off from IHOP in college when they decided to scale back on corporate stores and move to all feanchises.
Also got laid off from a plywood factory due to economic downturn. Was my first job after college.

Twice before I was 40…I had a friend in O&G as an engineer x3 in two years

I never was but I read the signs and left before it happened. Changed jobs four times to avoid it. In consulting work you have to always market your expertise to win jobs. Nothing is guaranteed. My whole career has been That way.

Yes, it is. Would you like to revise that statement or would you like to dig in as per usual?

Week before christmas. 3 years later, had the guy come give me an estimate for work on my big house after Florence just to rub it in his face mine was nicer than his.

I've been furloughed/laid off from various jobs in my life. Back in the 90's I was walked out by an employer who told me HR had received a complaint of harassment against me, when I asked if I could meet with the accuser with a HR member in attendance they said I was an employee at risk, meaning I could be terminated for anything at anytime. They gave me my final paycheck and said good luck....looking back I'm confident it likely worked out in my favor, found a much better job working for Allied Signa/Honeywell in Navcom/avionics for private and commercial aircraft.
