maximum freedom and minimum government intrusion.
That sounds more like an-cap or extreme libertarianism.

I'm not asking to be a jerk, but how old are you?
You seem well-versed in Kirk, Burke, and De Toqueville.

So you’re just arguing against a Christian God but you believe in a god?
Why are the only options believing in some sort of a god and knowing for sure that no god exists?

Conservatism isn’t about maximum freedom and minimum government intrusion.
That’s the caricature sold in the press.
You bought it. Congrats.
Then what is it about?
Assuming you answer the question, I suspect you're about to make my argument for me and prove what I have been saying.

I don't think this forum allows you to reply to 18 different people with a single post.
That single post that was quoted was a reply to a specific poster.

It’s not. But if you’re going to argue that you don’t know if a god exists, you can’t use god for the foundation of your epistemology.

So what would you say conservatism is based on, then?

Continuously rejecting support, because some of the holier than thou motherfrickers feel uncomfortable ... is why conservatives continue to lose.

I don't care who he was arguing with. I started off my post asking if I could interject with my own thoughts.
You asked me "So what?". So that's the reason his statement was worded in that fashion.
You literally told him over and over and over "what the argument is" when that wasn't the argument he was having with Foo.
I don't know how much more clearly this can be laid out.

Have I used god as the foundation of anything?

That's not a trivial question and certainly not one I could break down into 2 bullet points, but if the word means anything at all there must be an element of actually conserving, shouldn't there? For me that means looking at what's worked, like the nuclear family just to name one thing. It certainly rejects "change" as some automatic good.

I agree, and you did well keeping it concise.
Maybe we'll disagree on the next bit, but I don't think people should be shunned for not checking all the conservative value boxes (look at Trump).
I don't have a scientific method or some sort of calculation to determine which of us is pure enough, but I wouldn't classify someone who's simply been in the porn business as someone who should be shunned.

I don’t either. And I’ve said earlier I don’t know if TP USA did the correct thing or not here; I just don’t know much about them or the details of the event.

I thought she was still in it? There’s a definite distinction between was vs is.

You haven’t. That’s the point. Your epistemology is atheistic by definition.

I don’t have a problem allying with people for a political end. If the libertinearians and the we love weed and the freedom to whack it people want to vote for the same person, that’s great.
There’s just no reason to change the definition of conservatism to fit them.

Yes, but that's still quite a bit different from the point that got you to bite. I'm not 100% sold on the idea that no gods (or even the Christian God) exist.
I won't even get into what's more or less likely, that's impossible for me to realistically put a number to.
My position is that I've yet to see enough evidence that would justify a belief in any gods. So obviously I'll live as if none existed (what you just pointed out).

Shunned as a speaker (I know she tweeted she still participated). That's my understanding of the situation, perhaps I misread it?

What's weird is that Conservatism is also not about telling you what you can and can't believe is conservative. And this is where we diverge. If you want to believe it's a social thing based on whatever your church says, that's fine with me as long as you're not fricking up the chance of us beating the liberals at the polls by proselytizing as some kind of purity test for being on our side. If you are, then it's time to shut you down. You're killing us long term. It's a losing proposition.
This whole thing was a self inflicted wound that was NOT worth the press it's generated. They didn't have to invite her in the first place and BOOM, no issue. Once they did and realized all the "Church Ladies" were going to raise hell, they could have done something to minimize the damage but they played to the whiners and now we all look like how they've painted us for fifty years trying to throw her in the river to see if she floats or not.
