But the rabbit holes need to be gone down.

If Trump runs, he is the man.
If not, BDR is.
No need to start a fight right now, in 2023 we can discuss who is the best candidate. November is the focus right now.
DeSantis will not run if Trumps and is leading in the polls, that would be stupid.

46+36 = 82% The establishment GOP should realize conservatives have their number.

It’s much higher than that. Trump will cruise by Desantis if he is foolish enough to run against him. But he won’t.

Trump has a $120 million war chest. I read the other day that this is higher than the RNC or DNC currently.

Trump and desantis couldn't really get too brutal with each other ... Or rather, what can trump say to get dirty with desantis? Because there's actually plenty that Ron could say, but he's too classy so we are really talking about a big nothing burger.

This.

There is no way democrats can divide the republican party more than the GOPe. And the GOPe is currently on their way out.

My $.02 is there will be an agreement between Trump and Desantis that, at most, they will both enter the primary and not challenge each other past that, or only one will enter the primary. There is 0% chance that Trump runs as an independent against Ron.

If the GOPe puts an establishment pube in there, Trump will absolutely run as an independent. But no chance if the primary nomination is Desantis.

I'm comfortable voting for either. At all costs, we cannot have another liberal president, and GOPe is only moderately better than a liberal president.

Trump / DeSantis ticket checks all the boxes.

Melt from left would be cataclysmic.

No, no he won’t. This is one poll and the others show a wider gap. Your politician isn’t overtaking Trump no matter how bad Dems want him to or you thinking you can wish and post it into existence.

The Jan 6 hearing are being held because they are terrified of Trump, not DeSantis.

I have a greater insight than most into politics simply because of my spiritual stance.... But also I used to want to be one, so.... Yeah you're probably right I don't know much.

I agree with you but if Trump decides he's running, Desantis needs to wait and he will.

Whenever Desantis runs, he's going to need every MAGA vote. He's too smart to get wrapped up in the brutal battle that will be needed to take Trump out and he could end up losing in the end anyway. The nomination or the general.

The smart play for Desantis is to stay in good graces with Trump by either supporting Trump in 2024 or having the Trump blessing, either in 2024 or 2028.

He's not going to battle Trump. It makes no sense. He's in a perfect position.

DeSantis will be out office by 2026 due to term limits, assuming he wins reelection, and will have lost his platform. His stock is at an all time high and Trump is toxic, damaged goods. A Trump victory in 2024 would guarantee a serious political blowback. A Trump win and will give the Democrats momentum for 2028 and time for them to recalibrate and find the next Obama or Bill Clinton. The best they got is Biden and no one else. DeSantis is a slam dunk and its at best 50/50 and probably slightly less that Trump wins a general election.

We cannot afford to lose this election and I don't think Trump can beat Biden and $5 gas. In DeSantis, we get MAGA policies in a smarter, smoother, more sophisticated operator who can effect his policies. Trump can't govern and will not be allowed to govern. People can unite behind DeSantis and outside the ultra-MAGA base will not unite behind Trump.

Again, I agree with your analysis but if Trump runs, and it appears he wants to, Desantis will wait.

It makes no sense for either Trump or Desantis to get into a bloody primary battle that will only serve to weaken both men, cause Republican division and lower the odds of victory in the general.

Trump and Desantis need to work it out.

2 options, Trump doesn't run and he supports Desantis all the way to the White House.

Or, Trump runs with Desantis full support and waits for 2028.

A Trump Desantis bloodbath is what Democrats want.

No one interested in winning in 2024 would encourage Desantis to try and battle Trump.

Moreover, Desantis is too smart to do it.

Now, does Desantis secretly desire some outcome that might prevent Trump from even being a candidate? That's the Liz Cheney, Mitch McConnell, Mike Pence, Mitt Romney plan. Who supports that?

Desantis vs Trump is a lose lose and must be avoided.
