Wait, are you claiming your town in nowhereville SC has a robust public transportation system? I’m confused as to how you interpreted “lack of reliable public transportation is a systemic issue impacting many Americans” to mean whatever you have translated it to mean.
Out of all the posts in this thread of mine, this is the one you chose.
Why?
We have Uber, Lyft and Checker... honestly, I would not choose to live anywhere near a robust public transportation hub.
Was lack of transportation a contributing cause to your student's arrest?

You have a mental illness. You've been brainwashed into believing you must atone for being born by bending over backwards for every dreg in society. frick a homeless guy. Devote time to felons who didn't even graduate high school. Etc. It is the suicidal empathy of the Church of modern leftism. Sick.

The vast majority of Americans do, dawg.

What did the guy do to get arrested?
I doubt she'll answer that. It's easier to be vague and play the victim's champion against the criminal Goliath Trump.

back. You're dealing with an older group, with less innate motivation.
It’s beyond motivation. He’s only ever seen people get by working dead end shite jobs and watching friends and relatives get arrested. Having a record is completely normalized. It’s impossible for people who grew up with expectations as low as graduating high school to understand that plenty of people out there didn’t grow up like that. Their realities are totally different because they happened to be born into them. And that’s what I find so disgusting here.
No one cares. Look at all the people who literally contribute NOTHING positive to the world who are here ridiculing someone who happened to born into poverty with uneducated parents. I can’t imagine feeling proud of posting insults about a stranger who is going through a hard time and didn’t hurt anyone. But here are pages and pages of grown men and a smug grown woman (also uneducated and unemployed) doing just that. How are y’all not embarrassed? The complete lack of class is so gross. And many of these people pretend to have money.

I can't imagine how you feel so self-righteous
btw I've had several members of my family who have been part of prison ministries
even today I continue in a meager way to support a prison entrepreneurship program
but Im sure I'm not as nearly moral as you are

It was a lesson you needed to learn.

It’s very easy and comfortable for people who aren’t around “a certain demographic” to cast judgment from places of privilege but y’all just don’t know what some people are up against. And as much as this board loves to deny that systemic issues exist, the obstacles are systemic and they are not addressed by message board lectures about personal responsibility
I take it back. You learned nothing.
Are you willing to be honest and tell us what your student was arrested for?
I suspect you won’t answer or will lie.

Bad people need to go to jail for a long time

I’m not trying to save anyone. I’m just helping people see their own potential. This kid is very young and is insanely responsible. I would trust him to babysit my kids. In fact, I was with my family and a Mardi Gras parade and we were walking back to our car. It was late and I was telling my kids “just a little bit further y’all” and I heard someone say “Ms. Cubbies?” It was this kid! And I introduced him to my family. I’m very proud of what he has accomplished academically. He has one child who he supports and loves dearly.
He broke the law. He didn’t hurt anyone or steal anything but he broke the law. It is what it is.

Still waiting on someone to actually quantify these systemic issues.
