Now, I would describe him as being a bit Left of center, but generally reasonable and logical. Certainly more-so than the horde of posters who have difficulty expressing themselves beyond emojis and

I hate posters who feel they must lie about their political affiliation to gain some sort of credibility.
Your posts, the ones I have noticed, tell a different story, and you protesting your treatment is amusing. People have shown you why you’re not “Libertarian”. You claiming no one has ever shown you is another outright lie.

I, as an American citizen, should see MY President’s tax returns so that I know who is funding him.
Why is that a controversial position?
Because there is no legal requirement for him to do so. Your "should" does not supersede the Constitutional Right to privacy of another person. This sort of knee-jerk mindset is why a "pure democracy" is just another term for "mob rule".
Want it changed? Push for a Constitutional Amendment that makes providing the last 10 years of tax returns a mandatory requirement for being eligible for running for the Presidency as well as any office in Congress.

Again, however, name one topic inconsistent with the description that you challenge.

I think the issue most posters have is you tend to give one answer which is reasonable and then give another answer arguing against your reasonable response. It gives you the out when attacked on your second answer to refer to your first. Perhaps you just like playing devil’s advocate?

Perhaps that IS confusing to some people.

You have an over inflated sense of self importance. You are not nearly as smart as you think you are.

I'm not demonizing the people who want Trump's tax returns. I just know why they want them and I'm not going to pretend to not know
They want them for one simple reason. They understand that the tax returns of somebody who has a lot of money will have elements in them that on the surface will bother average voters who don't understand the tax code
Literally everything else said on the subject is a smoke screen. Among people who understand taxes, nobody thinks that releasing his tax returns is going to somehow help them find out about criminal activity. None of them think that releasing his tax returns is going to somehow give them information on unseemly dealings with the Russians.
It is 100% about finding exactly what they expect to find. What they would expect to find in any tax returns if somebody like Trump
They aren't asking for the returns because of what they hope to find. They are asking for them because they know what's there and they know they can use it to demagogue
And the reality is that you know every single word above is 100% true and yet here you are in this thread pretending to not know it

Item 1 of 2 on the tax return agenda: make it look like Trump's trying to hide something by not sprinting up, standing tall and sounding off immediately with docs in hand.
Item 2 of 2, contingent upon actually receiving said info: find something to harass and embarrass.
That's it, that's all.

They don't know jackshit what is there. Is this going to be Russian collusion II? Sure sounds like it.

And since as I pointed out they know that the tax returns of pretty much anybody similar to Trump would provide them fodder to demagogue, they knew in advance that he wouldn't want to release them
This shite isn't complicated at all.it really isn't that dissimilar from the whole Ann Romney has a horse silliness. They just want something they can beat him over the head with and since they knew he wouldn't give it that was the something

What I meant by saying they know what's in there is they know that anybody in a position similar to Trump will have things in their return that can be used to beat them over the head with because the average person won't understand the return.
They know that perfectly legal shite can be made political hay out of given the average voters ignorance

Hell, I would even agree that this describes MOST of them (given that his sipporters do not seem to want to see them). I simply assert that there is no unanimity on that point AND that there DO exist potentially-valid bases for examining them.
the reality is that you know every single word above is 100% true and yet here you are in this thread pretending to not know it

Lying about her husband's taxes isn't merely "isn't that dissimilar" from what they want to do here, it is EXACTLY what they want to do here.
How can these frickers get caught lying about something and have carte blanche to do it again, with no questions asked about their motives?

Among people who actually understand tax returns the number of them for which everything I said wasn't true is exactly zero.
That people who don't understand tax returns might think they're going to find out something really cool is really just a function of the aforementioned group demagoguing. You know this. You're just arguing to argue
