Too bad the articles of impeachment does not list an actual crime according to federal statute.

If the Dims even end up with perjury against Trump, like the GOP did against Clinton, I’ll be shocked. They have nothing and I believe they’ve known that for some time. But they’re too invested to back down.

What’s coming will be glorious to watch.

I don't think Trump is stupid enough to testify under oath.

If the Senate votes to allow witnesses, I'm looking for Mutually Assured Destruction. I'm looking for a deal that brings Bolton and Biden to testify. I think Bolton could hurt the president's chances in November, and if Joseph Biden takes the stand under oath - he's toast.

We could be looking at a whole new field of candidates come Spring.

To sleep, perchance to dream. Ah, there's the rub...

And that's why I still fully believe that the vote to allow witnesses will still fail this week, 51-49. There's no universe where democrats get their witnesses and Trump gets none.

It's just better to allow no witnesses and flush impeachment down the toilet because let's be honest, the votes for conviction are just simply not there and will never be as long as Trump enjoys high support amongst GOP voters in approval polls.

Republican senators have primaries and elections to win and they're not going put those at risk with a vote to convict Trump or allow witnesses that could damage the President.

My head agrees with you, but my heart craves to see the aftermath of Biden under oath.

I honestly feel that Biden has the most to lose here. That's why the Democrats probably won't push much more if it looks like it has to be a quid pro quo (see what I did there?) with both sides having witnesses. I don't think anything Bolton could say would get the Senate to remove Trump. But I do think if Joe testifies...

...Jesus, can you imagine?

This will last forever if they call witnesses. That’s what Dems want. They know they likely won’t remove them, but they are using this to make their case to the American people. It’s like hours worth of campaign ads for them.

1. Witness to what? So far no crime has be alledged, high crime, misdemeanor or otherwise.
2. Name one non-hearsay "witness" not subject to executive privilege.
3. Do we really another parade of "witnesses" to testify orange man bad?
4. Why continue with another politically motivated sham, i.e. Russia conclusion, Blasé Ford, Stormy Daniels, and on and on.
The better question is why isn't/hasn't the appropriate Senate committees calling Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, and their staffs to testify as to the origins of the "whistleblower". In the process subpoena all of their texts, emails, phone records, travel itineraries, etc. And then refer the entire bunch to the Department of Justice for prosecution for sedition.
edit: and for good measure their banking and other financial records.

This is all about the Dims creating a narrative. They can get more members of the White House on record saying they disagree with Trump, trying to marginalize him. The fact the Republican senators don’t have the backbone to say you had your opportunity to call witnesses and you blew it is pathetic.

This is equivalent to a jury telling a prosecutor that he didn’t litigate his case good enough, so we’ll call more witnesses for you to help you out.

This is a waste of time. There's no need to call witnesses. At the end of the day, Trump will still be acquitted.
