Think of it this way. The opposition party will be playing with fire if they fight every proposal and initiative from a mandate party. If the people speak loudly enough, the opposition must soften or pay dearly in midterms and beyond, it’s really more about the opposition backing off than the winning party getting special privileges.

The media only pushes the mandate nonsense when a conservative wins without the popular vote. It isn't real. But since they always push the narrative that the conservative candidate didn't have mandate. Now Trump can push the narrative that he does.

It's in the Constitution. When you win every swing state (and Iowa!) you have a Constitutional MANDATE. That means there are no more elections, you are dictator for life. You can do whatever you want, imprison everyone who said you will lose, and every 'brown' person. Really, it's in the Constitution, read it.
