Planet Fitness, which plummeted $400 million in value in March after gym-goers boycotted the franchise over a transgender policy, announced it was hiring a new CEO Tuesday who has a history of pushing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

Thats a loss of about $20/share. This has to do with the lady in Alaska taking a picture of the guy hanging his junk out in the womens' locker room. Then she was kicked out for taking pics in the locker room.

Someone is being compensated for this. I'd love to know the actual structure of this ideology.

My understanding is that DEI is required to keep your business able to access various lines of credit due to banks requiring it.

It ends up being a Morton’s Fork where doing this shite kills your business while not doing it starves your business of needed capital and it dies a slow death.

I seem to remember somebody on here explaining there is a cottage industry of some kind of "consultants" that borderline blackmail major corporations into adopting DEI initiatives.

Can you find anyone in a corporate leadership position that hasn't been forced to drink the DEI kool aid? That crap is a core doctrine that is more sacrosanct than the 10 commandments is to The Church.

Still you would think profit would outweigh virtue here.

There must be a shite load of money going to decision makers to force this stuff.

Who ever guessed a fitness chain that serves pizza, donuts, and soft drinks to its customers would double down on stupidity?

First - It's DIE.

My POE is PRIVATE. And they drank the whole damned pitcher.

I have to take and pass tests online where I am forced to say that having ex-junkies, babysitters and prostitutes on an engineering team makes it stronger and more productive.

They don’t say what positions those three groups would fill.

Would love to see the composition of the board of directors. Would love to see someone launch a class action lawsuit on behalf of the shareholders.

No - just team members to help engineers solve problems and improve efficiency.

A prostitute can help an engineer solve problems but not the ones they are officially working on.

Maybe that's what it's all about.
Under-the-table work to reduce stress and anxiety among the engineers so they aren't so distracted.

I was looking at it all wrong!

You're a genius!

Planet Fitness is a franchise. I've often wondered if franchise agreements had a clause in it protecting corporate for causing loss of franchise owners. If not, this DEI BS could definitely be a case.

Same question with the AB/Inbev and distributors of Budweiser products.

and with Blackrock/Vanguard using retirement money pushing Company agendas that ultimately lose money for their investors

There’s a massive difference in DEI and allowing a man inside a women’s locker room
