The secondary question is, if this is a coup, who is behind it?
In a coup, the one behind it is almost always the one who takes control afterward. In this case that would be Mike Pence.
He has been very quiet lately. He also has not been standing by Trump. It is also no coincidence that all of these investigators, raiders and special counsel are republicans. This is a Mike Pence operation.

Trump would never willingly have his attorney use the campaign money to fund that. Dude is a billionaire and has countless sources of income to do that. Even if he used his personal bank account, it's not like Melania is managing the savings account and asking questions like "What's this $130k about?"

I am going to go with coup. The deep state in action to overthrow an elected president because he is shaking up the system and is going to expose them for their dirty dealings.

It is Deep State Legal Formalism and while technically aligned with the letter of the law, it's completely outside the spirit of the Law. It is everything the Left has always hated when applied to them. It has the momentum of the Deep State and the Deep State media as well as the entirety of Progressive culture behind it. So it will be loud and noisy and the very worst among us will have the loudest voice.
My belief has always been that once you let the beast out of the cage, you don't know where it's going to go. So while The Left celebrates now, they are likely to cry later. When you attempt to Criminalize policy differences and you personalize politics to this degree it tends to bounce back on you. Because nobody is 100% clean, and the Democrats are UNIQUELY corrupt.
