Considering none of his investors actually lost money, I think it's all bullshite and a witch hunt what is happening to the guy? Is he a PoS? Yes but it seems like so far the punishment is way harsher than the crime.
They are making an example of him, no doubt. Will he be the first person convicted of makin money for all involved?

Yeah, he will be in federal prison. Not a lot of white collar arse pounders, although it is ironic the people who would celebrate it happening to him are typically the same that cry when people who have actually committed crimes violent or sexually violent in nature getting their arse pounded in prison.
Also, there is no rehabilitating his crazy. He is Albanian and those guys are straight crazy to the core.

Shrekli is a hero. If you live in sin or bang heroin and give yourself a disease you shouldn't get free medicine for it

Why are your goons not as hard as mine?

I had a client do time at Butner in NC. He said it wasn't bad at all. Mainly filled with non-violent criminals and well behaved federal inmates. A lot of the old school Italian mafiosi are there and they don't tolerate random violence like you would see in almost every state prison.

His live stream YouTube video clips of him talking to random people from his house are a great watch. Definitely worth checking out if you have any interest in hearing the other side and not just the click bait, media headlines.
Most of the people who would immediately start scolding him for "keeping a life saving pill from sick people" while reading from their CNN.com article, would end up liking him by the time they finished talking lol.

These drugs didn't start free, but they were cheap. Daraprim, the antiviral, wasn't the only drug he price-gouged. He also gouged thiola which is a treatment for cystinuria which is an genetic disorder. Even if you believe people should pay a premium for HIV meds (which is itself repugnant since babies and monogamous people get infected with HIV), it's hard to justify what he did with thiola.

I have been there (to see a client). Nice place (as prisons go). Pretty drive to get there.

The dude brazenly violated very clear federal securities laws. He got what was coming to him.

Yes. I've had patients get it from rape too.

So you, one individual doctor, have multiple patients that have caught HIV from rape and cheating spouses?
The rate of HIV contraction during consensual sex is between .1 and 3 percent, and very slightly higher during rape.
So either:
1. You live in a den of HIV and buggery
2. You are lying.

Or I've supervised dozens of residents at a time in an academic ER setting for years?
Don't make me start talking about HIV+ babies, y'all.

He won't do 7 years. He'll do 2-3
If this is a federal case, he needs to serve at least 85% of his sentence before he's eligible for parole so that's gonna be about like almost 6 years.
