And should be a wake-up call to traditional media organizations. He's tapped in to something they completely do not comprehend.

It would take NBC"s Nightly News a week's worth of programming to reach that many views.
It would take CNN's most popular program over 2 months.

I genuinely believe that people who are 40 or older in politics and the media do not understand internet culture.
The WSJ wanted clicks on their site but didn't realize that YouTube commenters are more popular and frankly, more trusted in younger people's minds than the mainstream media.
Also, on the Net Neutrality thread in the OT, I used PewDiePie as an example why the Big Six are not to be trusted whatsoever. I looked more into it to see if anyone who worked for the Big Six has come out and done a piece on the hit on PewDiePie and called it out for the bullshite that it is. I couldn't find a single piece on it. The best one was an indifferent one by MTV just saying he apologized and that's it.
This is like a Peabody Award piece for 60 Minutes if they went after it in any regard whatsoever. It would expose the WSJ and media for the hacks they actually are. They went after PewDiePie for a single reason: The MSM realized they lost the narrative with Trump's election, and that narrative was largely lost due to independent creators utilizing YouTube. So what do they do: they go after the single biggest independent content creator on the internet and went after his sponsors. If they bleed him dry, then they bleed the rest of them dry.
This is why PewDiePie should sue the WSJ for defamation, and if he wins, the WSJ and New Corp at large is totally fricked. They will owe billlions upon billions of dollars to almost all content creators, because they'll all get in on that action. People from JonTron to The Young Turks to Sargon of Akkad. They'll all get a piece of that pie. It would be the biggest win ever for the internet, and the internet may gain significant control over News Corp if PewDiePie wins in a suit against them.

Pulls in like $400k/month from videos.
The dude is worth 90 million plus. He may be raking that in now, but he was pulling way more than that before the hit job on him.

It was a wake-up call to them, and their response to it is 2 fold:
A) Do a hit piece on PewDiePie and YouTube at large to cut off the funds to these content creators.
B) End Net Neutrality so they can silence these people forever. (Ongoing)

Now he's basically the Morpheus of Youtube
This is where we are in society. PewDiePie is screaming the truth and the MSM is creating false stories to push a narrative.

I don't think the politicians know what the frick it means. They just listen to their Lobbyists and do what they say. I don't see it as that much of a partisan issue. It's either you know what it entails or you're corrupt/stupid.

except it is
republicans have been trying to end net neutrality for years while Democrats have been protecting it. That's just reality.

If you're employed by News Corp, Sony, Disney, Time Warner, Comcast, and Viacom then you're a part of the MSM.

Not part of the MSM. They're independent news organizations and not part of the system, a big reason why Trump won.
