People hoarding gas

Must be the same people who cleared the shelves of hand sanitizer and toilet paper last year.
If people would quit freaking out then this would hardly be a problem.

I think the problem may take care of itself this time around.
Hand sanitizer and TP aren’t particularly volatile. Gas is and has a shelf life of 1 month unless you add Stabil and keep it out of sunlight.

This time every year people here get gas for generators for pre hurricanes.

Which is why I went to Wal Mart and stocked up on fuel stabilizer as well.

OK, I've asked this question IRL before but never got an answer. Maybe someone up here knows.
When the toilet paper was being hoarded the opposite of hoarding is buying 1 roll or maybe even a 4 roll pack.
But all the stores had in stock for 6 months was the 8 pack or larger. So, you were forced to hoard when you didn't want to. Why was that?

I hoard gas year round. I fill both my boats up. That's about 120 gallons. If a hurricane hits I have plenty to run a generator. Say what you want but I've been without preparing isn't a bad thing. Those of us who prepare don't have to beg the government to rescue us..

It’s a bit harder to hoard gas than it is toilet paper for most people, so hopefully this panic buy ends sooner than the previous ones.

I store a lot of fuel this time of year.
I have a boat, 2 jet skis, a 5th wheel with generators, a Wolverine RMAX4 1000, a 4 wheeler just for leisure. We have 4 vehicles (3 gas and 1 diesel).
If you think me having gasoline on hand makes me a "hoarder" then frick off. I am retired and have the time and money to do whatever.

So that when this is over I can use the gas in my lawnmower or generator or boat without the ethanol in the gas damaging the engine of any of those things.
