I emphasize with your POV but I think your resentment is channeled at the wrong thing. Insurance is a byproduct of the SYSTEM. United Healthcare is serving a market artificially constructed long ago by government regulators, AMA cronyism, etc etc
The system is why costs are so high - not insurance. Insurance is playing the game as it was intended - the game needs to change, not necessarily the participants.
The entire healthcare system needs to be completely blown up and built from scratch.
And this probably will never happen without some cataclysmic event or upending of western civilization
