We also stopped giving out the 5-star rank almost 40 years ago, so the numbers are not comparable.

There were quite a few 5 Stars during WWII though.
Marshall, McArthur, Nimitz, Bradley, Eisenhower, Halsey, Leahy, Arnold, and a few others I can't remember.
