I am not sure about losing seats for him and Val demmings who may also run. Crist had his district changed a few years back in st pete and it is about 90%dem. Demmings is Orlando and they are solidly blue idiots. I wish it were not so

Probably trying to get more governorships to influence election outcomes. Florida is a big prize in that regard.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t a calculated and coordinated effort.

He unsuccessfully tried to run for Senate in 2010. He lost the Republican primary to Marco Rubio, then left the party and ran as an independent in the general election and lost with 30% of the vote. There's not really a statewide appetite for him anymore. Unless DeSantis gets caught with a live boy or a dead girl he wins by 7-10 points next year. The only person I've heard the Dems seriously consider running before today is Nikki Fried and DeSantis would crush her.
