Two Barner coaches running Alabama politics… what could go wrong?

Somebody needs to drag out a copy of As The Plains Burns.

Word has it Tubs is bored with DC and its slow pace on getting things done. Being the gov. he can get things done faster.

He really is dumb if he thinks anything gets done in Montgomery.

Coach doesn’t realize that Alabama loves Israel but doesn’t care much for actual Jews.

I dont know a single person (in Alabama) who prefers Muslims to Jews.

Jews may have faults but they dont worship a pedophile.

I 100% agree with this. When it comes to Jews vs Arabs most Americans side with Israel. In the absence of Muslims they have no care for Jews.
Pearl seems pretty comfortable standing side by side with people who sport 6MWE gear because they hate Muslims even more.

Saban is a Democrat. Wonder if he'd run against Pearl?
Would bama fans vote for Saban to be the Democrat senator from Alabama?

He won't beat the attorney general who is also running.
Walk down the street of any Alabama town/city. Ask 50 people if they can name the AG of the State. You'll be lucky if you get 4 correct answers. Now ask those same people who coaches BB at Auburn.

Meh. Politics is the one area where it's less about the school they matriculate from and more about being an effective leader and not getting sucked into the special interest graft that so many politicians can't seem to resist regardless of where they come from.

I have no particular issues with Tubs being the next governor. It never hurts to have name recognition. It doesn't hurt either coming from the U.S. Senate to the governor's office as he probably has a little more insight as to what's going on in DC which doesn't hurt either.

Having said all that, ideally the next governor would be a highly effective office holder on a local level within the state with a great track record of job growth which is why a different Tommy - Huntsville mayor Tommy Battle - would be my first choice for Alabama's next governor
