If impeachment were to pass the House of Reps, and thus force a trial in the Senate, could Mitch McConnel (and other ranking Rs) steer/orchestrate a dramatic affair that would out the Dems as the deranged, race-baiting, America-hating, poverty-exacerbating, divisive assholes they are?

In other words, yes, perform their constitutional duties to evaluate the "evidence".. but take it slow, and really put on a show. Hell, hire James Woods to direct the thing, with some theatrical input from Shapiro, Crowder, Beck, etc.

Or do the Dems, in an impeachment, get enough airtime to balance it out?

Also, as a bonus, could they time the show trial to really frick up the national touring and debate schedules for Senators Crazy Bernie, Pocahontas, Spartacus, Gillibrand, Harris, Klobuchar and Bennet?

UPDATE on May 22:
I'm bumping this because impeachment seems to have more "legs" this week than it did two weeks ago with my OP.

UPDATE on October 20:
I'm bumping this in honor of Dry Prong Wildcat's thread

Dem leadership is hoping to run out the clock on impeachment. They don’t want any part of it.

I’d rather them do their jobs, like improving infrastructure and passing a balanced budget, maybe ending unjust laws as well.

This whole political theatre, 24 hr media, etc has really made us, as a nation, look terrible and dumb. I mean, where are the statesmen nowadays?

Uugh!!!! Ok, good point. I can't believe how hard I worked for that guy in Ohio (Mitt 2012). Nearly a month away from home, crashing in a friend's Cincinnati basement, volunteering and tirelessly knocking on doors for that guy.

The Democrats are really nervous about keeping the House due to the influx of GOP females running against Democrats in areas that Trump and Romney won. GOP only expected to lose 3 seats all held by Anti-Trump people.

They ain't got time for that. They're due another break soon, then there's the adjournment, then another break, another session...

As far as the "unjust laws" goes, they created the problem, they ain't gonna fix it. Compound it? Maybe. Repair? Not a chance.

BTW, remember this shitshow over Trump when anyone advocates for Govt. Run Healthcare because THIS is how our govt. does things, all things, everything.

Despite opinions here of him, anyone who watched last night's Frontline should have a better feel of the political savvy and cutthroat outlook held by Mitch McConnel, going back to the Robert Bork nonsense.

So, if Republicans could ever get their shite together and possibly shut Romney up, could they turn a Senate Impeachment Trial into a national theatre to expose the Democrats?

Clarence Thomas and Kavanaugh hearings already did that.

I want to investigate the investigators.

Every day that Mitch doesn't come out in public to say that he will NOT accept articles of impeachment from the Democrats because of the tactics they are using is every day that my concern gets HIGHER that the GOP senators will vote to remove POTUS Trump if an impeachment trial happens.

I thought I heard that McConnell wants to speed through the trial to an early vote. I strongly disagree with this. If I was McConnell I would advise that any vote in the house would result in burning down the house during the trial.

I am interested in how McConnell could shorten the matter if Trump wanted his defense to pursue all of the evidence.

I am very concerned about how deep the deep state is and how much they need to protect themselves even at the cost of Trump.

If Trump goes, I think the bigger powers continue to go on with their gravy train.

To each their own. For every Republican volunteer transplanted to Ohio that Autumn that worked for a week or two or three, there were four Democrats there (some paid, most volunteering), and MANY had arrived in August and stayed until Election Day.

Do the math.

If POTUS Trump goes, there will NOT be rioting in the strees or any marches on Washington. People are too lazy...

What WILL happen is the end of our country through. Conservatives will correctly surmise that their vote means nothing and the elections are a fraud.

Conservatives in blue states will surely move to Red ones and the divide will become greater....with a possibility of a slow but inevitable separation of the nation....but that will take some time.
