So much for the city of lights, I guess this is part of the "buyers market"

quote:

The policy comes amid Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, which has resulted in a halt to Russian imports of natural gas to European countries that previously relied heavily on to fill its energy needs. While France has typically been a net-exporter of energy in recent years, issues plaguing many of the country's nuclear plants have caused the country to increase imports this year.
Other European countries are implementing similar policies, with the Netherlands calling on residents to take shorter showers, Finland asking people to spend less time on electronic devices, and Germany cutting the lights to many of its monuments.

None of this would be happening if Putin wasn’t stuck in the 1940s. Russia doesn’t invade Ukraine and everyone is happy. Russians are making money and Europe has their typical allotment of O&G.

We must stop believing that people are only attracted by light," Paris Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire said of France's bid to save its energy consumption, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. "People are not mosquitoes." People used to Paris being lit up late into the night will have to adjust to a new reality this winter and possibly longer, with French President Emmanuel Macron calling for a 10% reduction in energy consumption over the next two years.

Lol. It’s not us, it’s you.

And we had nothing to do with it? Installing a hostile corrupt regime? Lying again and again to Russia?

Last I checked, Western boycotts stopped Russian energy from coming into Europe, not Putin.

You’re saying this as if Russia wasn’t doing any of this either lol. The difference is, only one side thought military intervention was the acceptable choice. You’re saying this as if Russia wasn’t trying to tell a country to do something that they didn’t want to do. You’re saying this as if the US is the big bad boogeyman in this conflict. You’re saying this as if you’re trying to defend the actions of Vladimir Putin, because you think he’s a good and moral leader.

What did we lie about though? Please elaborate. You think the Russians are the standard when it comes to being honest and truthful?

Last I checked, Russia is the only country who believes that military intervention is ok, not the West. Also, last I checked, Russia is the only one in this matter who believes they should dictate what a country does, even if they don’t want to. It’s not the West that’s the problem here.

This energy crisis has more of a chance of breaking up the EU than the PIIGS.
