Financing such home front "happiness" was not simple and Hitler essentially achieved it by robbing and murdering others, Aly claims. Jews. Slave laborers. Conquered lands. All offered tremendous opportunities for plunder, and the Nazis exploited it fully, he says.

While I think it is similar to the rise of Nazi Germany, I think the Fall of the Roman Republic is more similar. Trump will go down as a more pathetic Gaius Marius in our Republic. And it goes back years, with the Kennedy Brothers being very similar to the Gracchus Brothers and with the Punic Wars being the ancient equivalent of WWI and WWII. The age of Sulla is coming now, and we’re fricked. And if this continues to be correct, the American Caesar and Pompey are in their 20s and 30s now. I believe we will see the Fall of the American Republic in my lifetime.
